Another frozen morning. Today is again -5β. Pets are all fed, bird feeders refiled and it's time for hot tea. It will be one more day for stay inside with book or tv. Hope you all slept well.Β
Hello there Ante. Last night's windy conditions have settled down but there could be more later. My pet is fed and is busy exploring round the house. I've had my cereals and I'll join you with a cup of tea - cheers!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
It's much milder, looks wet and windy outside but it isn't raining.
Last night went to the village pub down the road. It's so much livelier now that it it has new owners. We met a nice man who paints houses. Our cottage needs painting, he's popping round on Tuesday. He's done quite a few in the village.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Morning LB. I'm so glad that Cricket is settling down in his new home. I meant to say earlier that I simple knew you will have new cat. It was the same situation when my first dog died. I said never again another dog, but after two months Max arrived. House was so empty without a dog.Β
Yesterday was breezy and constantly hissing down and the original fine day we were forecast for most of today has been curtailed somewhat. It's fine and dry at the moment but that won't last for long, apparently. Another weekend washout.
In my late teens, 20s and 30s, a group of 7 of us spent a lot of time together - playing in the same football teams, holidays, going out, etc. Sadly the second of that group died yesterday. He had his problems with addiction, so it isn't a surprise really. Still a stark reminder of our mortality. I wonder if any of the remaining 5 will make it to retirement! Fingers crossed we can all get to the funeral.
Lots that I could/should/want to do today, but I feel I might need a to do list in priority order. Otherwise, I could well flit and procrastinate all day.
Morning all. Slept well last night and got up late this morning. Its rained over night, as forecast, but very mild too. Biglad, my OH knew three other friends from college , very well, and kept in touch all their lives thereafter. Some taught at the same school as OH too. Unfortunately, they have all gone now. It is very stark reminder of one's mortality. I am sorry to hear about your friend.
Good morning, it got quite blustery last night but has eased off again for now. Itβs just a lull, though. More is on the way. Sorry to read about your friend @Biglad.Β
Iβm toying with the idea of sorting through some old paperwork when I get back from church. On the other hand, I might not π.
