We'll be taking suitable clothing Hazel but it won't be as cold as you might think. Nowhere near as cold as Norway was when we did our Nthn Lights trip.
Likely to be in the -3 to +3C range - so much like it's been here this week. The wind could make a big difference and crossing the water to land in the zodiacs is likely to be cold and we're very likely to get splashed. So water and windproofs are a must.
So long as my ears and hands are warm and dry I'll be fine.
Did I tell you we have to vacuum all our bags and outer wear to remove pollen and seeds? We also have to wear the supplied muck boots which are scrubbed and disinfected before and after each landing. The treads have to be picked out with an old toothbrush to avoid transferring material between landing sites. Not allowed to kneel or put anything on the ground except boots and (disinfected) walking poles.
Biosecurity is taken very seriously.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Goodness Topbird, that's top security in action but quite understandable and reasonable. If the temperatures are what we are having now then I know you'll survive okay. You're Β a seasoned traveller after allπ€π
Yes they're very strict about food and plant security in Australia aren't they LB?Β
One thing I didn't appreciate until recently is that a lot of our fellow travellers from Australia who are also transiting through Argentina, have to have yellow fever shots. Not because the Argentinians are worried about yellow fever, but because the Aussies insist on it for anyone travelling from Argentina - including Aussies returning from hols.
It's one of the nastier vaccines and one you really shouldn't have as a just-in-case - especially if you're over 60. According to the NHS it's only advisable if you're heading up-country, and I feel a bit sorry for those spending just one or two nights in BA being forced to have it because of government policy.

T'Bird, that last post of yours brought back a lot of memories. I have lost count of the number of yellow fever shots we had to have travelling around with Dad on his various overseas postings. The worst reactions we got were from vaccinations called TABT. Typhoid and tetanus I think and my arm would be immobile and painful for days after having one of those. Lord knows what we were being pumped with then.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
A very good morning one and all. A positive heatwave this morning. Its a whole 4Β°C out there! Now I wonder what I can get done today? I'm itching to get into the garden where I still have much tidying up to do. Loads of bulbs peeking through now and I can see the white buds of snowdrops all over the garden.

LB, it's so warm up there, here is at the moment -5β. I read yesterday that GW will start at 15th March, and good news is that they have four new specials which will soon start. Next week GW will write exact dates.
Wind and snow this morning. It's much better than yesterday, but still unpleasant. I used to love snow, now just day or two, and it's enough. Well, it's time for my tea, and I really don't know what to do later.Β
Good morning Ante. Brrrr that is very cold indeed. Thank you for giving me the dates for the return of GW. I will make sure that I check out for those. We are getting weather warnings about Storm Isha which is going to hit the UK tomorrow and into Monday. I've said it before and I'll say it again - I HATE wind! I do agree with you about the length of time snow stays hanging around. Lovely on the first day and then I just want it to melt and go away. Is it too cold to take Max out for a walk or does he prefer to stay indoors during windy weather?

I have tidying to do in the garden too, but it won't be today.
I slept really well, went to bed at 10.30pm, didn't even go to the loo until 6.30pm. Hasn't happened for years. I did almost nothing yesterday, not even a walk, must have been very tired.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Very frosty in south Norfolk.
