Good morning all. Apologies for absence been a busy time again. Hope all are well and keeping warm.
Fiancé is liking the new job and it’s lovely to have him at home so much. Work is busy I don’t think that will change so many pharmacies have closed locally so we have lots of new customers. We are trying to set up a new system that’s more computerised so people will get a text message when heir scripts are ready. Lots of extra work hope my old brain can cope! We shall see!
Cold here but dry I have some boring paperwork to do this morning but maybe an hour in the garden later. Fingers crossed
Busy, maybe your excellent night's sleep was a 'catch up' after your disturbed night before your ferry crossing. I'll bet that you feel full of energy today. My night wasn't perfect but at least I did get some sleep.
Lovely to see you Debs and what great news about your Fiancé and the new job. Being happy at work brings such positivity. I feel sure you will soon get to grips with the new system - wish something like that was in place in my village.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Good morning everyone. Its still very cold here ,far too cold to be outside. So much to do in the garden left over from a very wet autumn.Iam a little better but need to build some strength up . Keep warm folks .
Good morning Ruby. I agree about the 'working outside' temperature and am jealous that Debs has dry weather - surprise surprise its raining here! My weather is ridiculous!
I am expecting some screws from the big South American river place as the cat 'tree' I got for Cricket was missing some and the store I got it from, whilst looking everywhere couldn't find any spares. I could be doing a Bob the Builder task later depending when they arrive.

Morning all. Milder today but the wind has started to increase....ready for tomorrow's onslaught, oh joy. I need to secure a few things in garden and protect others in readiness. The latest trend 23 is into is Rainbow Friends , anyone heard of them before? We hadn't but did find some in a shop in town yesterday but these were commandeered by son last night ( he dropped in on way home from work) for 23 as he would love them.( sons as bad). So OH is going to pop and get two more today. The seedlings I rescued from the greenhouse yesterday seem to have perked up plus a few foxgloves I brought inside.( including some I got from seeds from a foxglove in mums garden). Really glad I rescued them. Debs and Ante, lovely to see you again. Yes,life is busy, I remember those days very well and never take for granted the days I have now. But keep warm and rest when you can even if it's doing nothing, enjoy the time off. Busy, I agree with LB, sounds like you've caught up with the sleep you lost during the ferry ride. Ruby, you will catch up eventually in the jobs outside, don't worry about them. Concentrate on getting yourself better. Hope Rosie and OH are doing okay.
Hazel OH is much the same .He tries so hard to live as normal a life as possible. Rosie snuggled up in her flat .She needs to keep warm after her stroke which was sometime ago now . I am just pleased that her stroke hasn’t affected her mobility much .
Good morning Hazel. Pleased to read your seedlings are showing signs of recovery. I guess in the wild, foxgloves will have to contend with times like we have had recently and as native plants they cope very well. I have to say that I have never heard of Rainbow Friends either and I'll have a quick Google later. That will be my bit of new knowledge for today!
Ruby, please pass on my best wishes to Rosie and your OH.

Nasty paperwork done, not paperwork actually it’s all done on the computer but I do hate it.
Raining now so no gardening planning a lazy day instead just a few jobs to do and then a good book later.
@Songbird-2 I think it’s a balancing act sometimes with work and family responsibilities and also making time to relax, middle daughter ( Maisie and George’s mom) has been struggling with her MS recently and has needed help and a few friends are going through difficult times. I appreciate that I am lucky to have so many people in my life but it has a downside.
Have been into town and got 23 his rainbow friends and picked up a few other things. Didn't stay out too long as the wind is cold.
Everything outside has now been secured and can't do anything else now to protect from the high winds. I just hope the roof tiles stay put😬
Debs, it most certainly is a juggling act when you're working and with a family life. We often wondered, upon retirement, how we ever managed to do everything. I guess when one is younger though, the energy levels are higher and the enthusiasm for getting things done is more prevalent and acute. Our pace of life has definitely slowed down since retirement.....but that brings along with it a completely different set of issues and problems to be solved that weren't there when we were younger. Swings and roundabouts. I am sorry to hear that your daughter has been suffering with the MS. It must be very hard for her and with young children too.
Ive just read on line that our local council is considering( so it will be done) changing the local waste and recycling collections. They are to increase gate fees at local skip( which is going somewhere else from next year, ( but don't know where) maybe bringing in a charge for green waste and swapping the unrecyclable stuff from weekly to fortnightly and vice versa for the recyclable stuff. I can just see that causing problems but we can't do anything about it except get on without.
Rubee, I'm pleased to read that Rosie is doing okay and keeping warm. Your OH is a trouper putting up with his problems and trying to maintain as normal a life as possible. Bless him, I do hope he gets some good days.
