    Hello all.

That was good news about your brothers, LB.

We enjoyed dinner with friends last night, a delicious beef casserole. Went to bed quite light, woke up late this morning.

I've dug up my huge dahlia which has out grown it's place. I will give it to the gardener who looks after the garden when we are in France. It was quite a job!

A beef casserole is one of those marvellous winter warmers Busy. Wonderful comfort food. You might be able to get a cutting from your dahlia next year.

I am signing out for this evening. I will see you all in the morning before I go into the village to collect an inflated snowman and Rudolph. Please do not shoot me down if I drift over your way!

Thanks for starting the new thread LB. You've chosen a beautiful picture to start us off - wish my garden looked half as good in the winter!

Managed an hour in the garden today - cut a few things back and weeded the shingle patio. Fairly mild this morning. Determined to keep doing little bits whenever the weather permits. 95% chance of rain for much of the daylight hours tomorrow so might be a chance to put up some decorations instead.

    Sleep well everyone.

Good morning all. Well those people upstairs who keep turning on the water must be smiling as I view with dismay my upcoming visit to the village (where there is next to no parking) to pick up the inflated Frosty and Rudolph. Best dig out my waterproofs.
Well done T'Bird on your gardening tasks. You are making me feel very guilty!

    Morning all (from the CA),

Very Marti here - in the forecast and the reality I can hear against the windows. May have to bite the bullet and get out there anyway today. Those two apple trees won't plant themselves no matter how long I leave them.

Morning Biglad. Joking aside, this is probably an ideal time to plant your apple trees. I remember once in the dim and distant past planting out shrubs in my Mum and Dad's garden in the pouring rain - much to the consternation of their neighbours - and they flourished. Go for it!
