Gosh Hazel, I need to pay more attention to people's posts!
Dear me Busy, it must be quite worrying for your D2 - watching rain water creeping up. I hope that the steps are high enough from ground level.
@Biglad, as long as the deadline wasn't the day before yesterday! Twonks!
Ruby, my tree is artificial but as a mentioned a few days ago, I still have the mini real tree I got last year so I may bring that in to get that lovely pine smell.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
I had a busy day so far, and it's still not over. My mother will come back from fieldtrip around 10pm, and I must drive her home. GC closes at 9 so I must get there earlier if I want buy christmas tree. It finally sunny and warmer, after a month of rain. Yesterday I was at cottage with Max and everything is under water. I didn't like it at all, but Max felt quite opposite, if we can judge how muddy he was after walk. Luckily I always have an extra blanket in car, just for cases like that. I'm going to rest a bit.ย
Hope you all have a nice day so far, I didn't manage to read back.
Afternoon Ante. Wish I could say the same here about temperature. It is cold, so nice to be inside. I can just imagine how muddy Max would have been. Its strange how most dogs never seem to bother. I had a friend who had a little Jack Russell terrier and if it so much as felt a spot of rain when going out for a walk it would refuse to leave the house. Very comical.

@Rubee We bought an artificial tree about 25 years ago, in the January sales, at half price, with the expectation that it might last five to ten years.ย We still have it, and, while I detest the overuse of plastic, I do feel that we have got good value for money. My wife suggested getting rid of it before the house move, but given the delay we had, I'm glad I decided to keep it.ย It's only three feet high, but it doesn't lose its needles, and stored well in the loft, during each year. Easily moved, and very little hassle.
No lights this year. Haven't got around to sorting the electrics.
LB your real Christmas tree no matter how small it is will smell lovely in the house . rowlandcastle444 your tree is a lovely shape. It would have be been a shame to get rid of it.
We only have a small tree but its full of little ornaments from years past and with them, lots of happy memories. Need to replace the batteries in the lights in the front garden though as have noticed tonight ( when putting the bin out) that the lights are looking a little dim.ย
Five years ago today , OH and I moved into this house and what a day that was.๐
We need to be up and about very early tomorrow as our plumber will be here at the crack of dawn. So I'll say goodnight to one and all and hope you have a nice evening. Enjoy @Busy-Lizzie, bet you're looking good in your outfit!ย
