Afternoon all. Looks like the frost is going but it's still very cold in the breeze! I could do to get out and fill the garden bin ready for collection on Monday but hate gardening in the wind. Maybe I'll just nip out and quickly trim off the Group 3 clematis.πŸ₯Ά

Ruby - I'll join LB in sending best wishes to Rosie and your Oh. You too - hope you start feeling better soon. A bit of sun and warmth would help!

Debs - good to see you. Our pharmacy has a text system for letting patients know when their medication is ready to collect. Works well. What works even better is the automated machine collection. You can't use it if your meds include refrigerated items or controlled drugs like morphine but, for my bog standard prescription, it means I can collect from the machine 24/7 within a 48hr window. Very convenient and no queues.

LB - hope Cricket enjoys his cat tree. Is he a playful fellow? How long will you keep him indoors? Think our cat rescue place recommends a minimum of 2 weeks to get them used to your voice so (hopefully) they'll come if you call them (Yeah - right - he's a cat - he'll come when he's good and ready and not before....😬)

Wow, now that is a good idea, wish we had one.

It's brilliant Hazel. No queues for those just going to make a collection, shorter queues for those who need to collect from the counter, and the pharmacy staff have a bit more time to look after the customers that need it.Β

Works particularly well for those who work full time and struggle to get to the pharmacy during regular opening times.Β

Afternoon all. T'Bird, that is a very clever, and useful system. Screws are set to arrive between 19:00 and 22:00 today so building job will wait until tomorrow now. Cricket is VERY playful and I am constantly under mugging attacks. Tell you what, if I could harness all his energy I would not need to rely on the National Grid! His very favourite toy at the moment is a plastic shower curtain ring because he can carry it everywhere. His other favourites are a laser toy (he loves the red dots) and a battery (rechargeable) operated toy that wiggles about all over the floor. The last two switch off after 10-15 minutes so he doesn't get too bored. Cats Protection, who I got him from, advised me to keep him in for a month before giving him the freedom of the garden. He is a big boy and when I look at him next to the cat flap I am just wondering if it is big enough to allow him through!

    Good afternoon all,

It was good to see the frost had gone this morning but it still felt pretty cold, and the grey, dull sky is back, so in a way, I’d rather have the frost and blue sky. It’s the calm before the storm here as the strong wind is expected tomorrow and Monday, so I’ve been out battening down a few hatches. I hate strong winds.

Cricket sounds a very lively chap indeed @Ladybird4, but excellent company.

My SiL’s funeral is at the end of the month - it’s been a long wait, I’m afraid, but these things sometimes are, aren’t they?

@Ladybird4 just read back to find out more about your new kittycat. He looks lovely and will keep you busy no doubt. How kind of you to adopt from a rescue. So many cats struggle to find a good home don’t they? He has fallen on his feet with you.Β

@Red maple, it's nice to see you . Yes, sometimes funerals do take a while in arranging depending on circumstances. When my father died it was just after Christmas and New year and it took many weeks to arrange the event and then even many more months until the internment. It was terrible and never ending. My thoughts are with you.
I am not looking forward to tomorrow afternoon, that's when storm Isha is due to hit here and getting worse as the day goes on. It's supposed to be bad in the evening.Β

Good evening all. The wind is already building up here. @Red maple you are not alone in disliking strong winds. I was so very sorry to read about your SIL's funeral. My thoughts, like Hazel's, are with you and the family.
Yes indeed Debs, there are always little furry things needing homes. All my cats have been rescues. I am always wanting to take them ALL home with me. Cricket is definitely meant to be a single cat as I did ask about the possibilities of taking another one with him, but they were quite firm.
