Hello there T'Bird. How nice for you to have a trip to Berlin to look forward to next week. Are you driving or flying? I must admit that I would feel a bit twitchy about Buenos Aires having read all those pointers you have made. Sometimes we, in this country, don't realise how lucky we are about many things. Did your OH and his friends get all the aircraft moved safely?
I might have mentioned this before but Handy Brother reckons it is going to get to 11Β°C on Sunday but there are weather warnings for high winds on that day and over into the Monday so Hazel and I will be battening down our hatches.

Still the last remnants of light at 5pm - the darkest, deepest depths of winter are over, but it could do with being a degree or two warmer for gardening purposes Β Β
I'm giving more serious thought to not having a car. My current one is cr&p in this weather, which is another tick in the 'get rid' column. It won't even get up our hill when it is a bit slushy. The place I got it from has embarked on a charm offensive recently. Got an e-mail today telling me to 'bob' down. "I would but the last car you sold me won't get 50 yards at the minute!!!" Β Β
Evening Biglad and Bluejayway. Are you old enough Biglad to have a bus pass? There is a lot to be said about not having to worry about the drive or parking when you get to your destination. I have one and it is great as within Greater Manchester I can travel on trams and trains for free as well as being able to use the pass just about anywhere. When I fly out of Manchester I can get the train that goes right to the airport. I still wouldn't be without my car though.

I have quite challenging week so far wit so little free time. I suppose January must be like that. Weather is like roller-coaster, cold and warm, and for tomorrow we received a red alert for snow and very high wind. I was in shopping after school, and also collected two parcels from post office. Don't need to say that I'm tired. It's time for dinner and probably bed. Hope you are all well.Β Β
Good evening Ante. I always used to think that the first week of any new term took all the energy out of me. Our weather here has been as much of a roller coaster as yours so I do know how you must feel. Feet up now and watch some TV. You deserve it!

Ante, have an early night and look after yourself. You sound absolutely shattered. 2 more days and then 2 days off. We have high winds at the weekend so will definitely be battoning the hatches, good and tight. LB, new light is brilliant in the dark so we won't need the 2nd one at all. It's like Blackpool Illuminations out in the gardenπ All good with mums house. We all do have to go through something similar in our lives, it's just at the beginnings of such things when it is hard and thought provoking and difficult to think beyond that moment when emotions take over. Rationale seems to go out of the window. But, for me, all is good....(ish)π Topbird, I can understand your OH feeling hemmed in in January, it can be Β a depressing month so hope you have a great time in Berlin. I'm with LB and yourself feeling twitchy about the cruise break and the particular place you would need to be in. One would hope the situations are monitored and tourists lives would be a top priority for any holiday agents/ cruise companies and no chances would be taken. With that in mind all should be safe.....I suppose I'm Β just too cautious.Β Biglad, I am another one who wouldn't be without the car. I suppose it's a case of what you get used to and we are very used to hopping in the car to get to places now to want to be without one.
I am going to sign out for this evening everyone so I will bid you night night. See you all tomorrow. I smiled when you said your garden was like Blackpool illuminations Hazel. Well done to your light man!
Haven't seen @rowlandscastle444, Debs or Yvie for awhile. I really hope all is well with them and SGL too.

Hazel, hope wind will not cause any damage in your garden. I know how you don't like high wind and I share your feeling.
