Morning LB. Up early today as I was cold so came down and out heating on.Β
Topbird and LB, thank you for your kind words but I’m sorry if it has brought up sad memories for you. Must confess I find it hard being so far away and can’t help but brother is very good despite his current health problems.Β
Still dark outside - will be so glad when the lighter mornings arrive.
How was Cricket last night LB? Hope he’s settling in nicely with you.Β

Morning Hazel. No need to apologise at all These are probably situations most people have to face sooner or later. x
Cricket seems to be settling in very nicely - which most likely means he has taken control of me already! He is young and playful and will certainly keep me on my toes. It has made me realise that I need to declutter even more. Lily was too arthritic to be leaping up over all my furniture but Cricket views these as an assault course and lives up to his name!
He spends a lot of time 'plotting' how to get out of the living room and upstairs. That will come in time but he is confined to limited barracks at the moment.

Sounds as if he is well in control LB.πŸ™‚ Is he climbing the curtains yet or scratching the furniture?😬🀭
Im feeling a bit better this morning, a bit more " with it" so will continue with my pottering days for the moment. How is your cold?Β

No to both of those activities Hazel - thank goodness! My cold is still hanging on and I still have the cough. Good idea to just potter. We had a bit of sleet earlier. Nice to be in and warm.

    Good afternoon everyone,
It’s a very grey and cold day here. It hasn’t rained or sleeted yet, but I won’t be surprised if it does. It was very cold in church today so was glad to come home and have a hot coffee. It has taken ages for me to thaw out.
It looks as if Cricket is setting in well @Ladybird4. He sounds to be full of beans and will, no doubt, keep you well entertained 😁. He looks a very handsome chap. I hope your cough and col go away very soon.
My plans for the rest of the day are to not do very much. I’ll potter on here a little more and then read my book.
I needed to get the hot metal thingy out earlier as I took delivery of a nice bright yellow tablecloth yesterday ready for Easter, but it was extremely creased when I took it from its packaging. It looks better now.

I felt a lot better this afternoon and it's been quite a bit warmer today. I planted my new red rose in the centre of the round rose bed in a cardboard box filled with new earth and compost then I weeded the bed and mulched it with compost. Took a while as I worked slowly.

Thank you @Red maple. It was as cold as charity in my church today. My feet felt like lumps of ice. Many of my friends are full of the same silly cough and cold. We don't feel ill but the coughing is very annoying.
Glad to read you are feeling a bit more like yourself today Busy and well done on getting the rose planted. Fingers crossed it takes well.
