Hope you have a fantastic time, too @Red maple , at your Panto! Your meal today sounds yummy and what a good idea to pre book it, saves you making a meal todayπ I am still trying to persuade my OH to treat me out to a Christmas Day meal but he likes it at home, so another year goes by with me doing it. One of these days....... Dark miserable days make for horrible car journeys and, although OH a still loves driving, he is not enjoying night driving since he had Iritis. Are you the driver in the family @Red maple ? @rowlandscastle444, how is the unpacking coming on? Are you making inroads into it? Also, have you found your way down the full length of your garden yet? Sorry if I've missed you saying you had and /or posting a picture.Β Will sign out for tonight, night all.Β
We both drive @Songbird-2, but this last week Iβve been doing all the driving because OH had his carpel tunnel surgery last week. His stitches come out on Monday, so he should be back behind the wheel then π.

Hi @Songbird-2 Yes, I have managed to get down the garden. I think I did post some pictures somewhere. I can't recall where.
Popping back in..... Of course, @Red maple, I should have realised your OH couldn't drive yet after his recent surgery. Sorry. @rowlandscastle444, it will be fantastic next Spring onwards, to see what comes up in your new garden and hopefully you will be able to do some planning. I'll have a look at the thread of garden pictures you may have posted there. Thanks @Busy-Lizzie, I think I did see the first picture and it's beyond that point which would be interesting to see. Your latter post shows the pictures of beyond the arbor and the link to the garden picture thread, thanks so much, that's the one! π It looks smashing @rowlandscastle444.Β
Hazel, I have to agree about night time driving - I'm not keen either these days. For years I have wanted to go out for Christmas dinner too and this year I will be. No veg prep., no cooking a full turkey dinner, no washing up afterwards - can't get everything in my dishwasher! I'm looking forward to the freedom.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Thank you @Busy-Lizzie I looked in various threads to find them - obviously not the right one!!Β π
We already have some plans. We were given a rose (William and Catherine) by our church. We also have a gooseberry bush in a large pot that we brought with us.Β
We want to put in raspberry, redcurrant and blackcurrant bushes. Callicarpa too. There are some fruit trees here, and we want to see how they do.Β
Some things may come out, and my wife has plans for new beds closer to the house. Herbs are a "must", as are agapanthus - although we believe there are some of the latter already here.

This is the first section of the garden. I've not ventured to the others yet, because I've not come across my garden shoes.
