Lovely kitty @Ladybird4 looks like he has already made himself well at home. I canβt believe we have had our two for 7 months already. Time goes way too quick.
glad itβs the weekend Iβm looking forward to doing not much of anything.
A very good morning one and all. Quiet night here so Cricket must be settling. Luckily I do not have anything specific to do today so if its dry like the past couple of days I might even get some more work done in the garden. We do have snow forecast for next week so I better be prepared. It seemed strange to be reading about more southern areas having the snow last week when it is usually we 'oop north' in England who get it first, after north of the border.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
LB, I just knew it that you will get a new cat. Cricket is a lovely cat.
Finally it's weekend and weather seems little bit better today. We had a storm with the strongest wind so far, luckily without any major damage. It's sunny, but still very cold, -2 this morning. It was challenging week so I wasn't around, and two days ago I was at cottage with Max. He was a bit disappointed with lack of snow, but there was a plenty of ice and frozen ground. Hope you are all well.Β
Morning all. An early start for us as OH has been roped in to help a couple of friends move aeroplanes to new bases. They needed to start at first light to make sure everything is completed before sunset.Β
Washing machine arrived at 6pm last night and it's had a cleaning cycle so I'll do a proper wash today. Noticeably quieter than my old machine - hope it lasts as long!
LB - well Cricket is a handsome little chap isn't he?π₯° How lovely to have a furry companion again - I hope he settles in to his new home nice and quickly. Can you tell yet if he's going to be a bit of a cuddle bucket? Some cats are and some cats aren't.Β
Hazel - yes we're getting ready for our big trip in March. We're going to see some whales and penguins in Antarctica with our favourite Norwegian company. Quite a few opportunities on this trip to get involved with some science research projects collecting water and ice samples. Can't wait to set foot on the 7th continent.
It will be the tail end of summer down there and, at around 0C, it won't be nearly as cold as Nthn Norway was in winter (wind chill not withstanding). We travel via Buenos Aries in Argenina where we will spend 3 days at the start of the trip and 2 at the end. At the moment it is around 30C with high humidity - so clothes packing is 'interesting'.
Have our compulsory online video medical screening interviews next Tuesday. Being 3 days away from the nearest hospital down there, they need to make sure you're fit enough to go.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
I hope you have a wonderful time @Topbird. I won't envy you though, I don't really want to visit cold places. I think I'm quite happy watching whales and penguins on TV when they have programmes about them.
Big frost today.
I was quite achey in the night from wrestling with the rose yesterday. Also tummy is unsettled. Maybe those mussels we had haven't agreed with it.
This morning we'll take down the Christmas trees, small one in the kitchen, bigger one in the sitting room.
I hope it will be warmer this afternoon as I would like to dig the hole big enough to plant the cardboard box and the new rose in it.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
