Hazel, I still have my cold and I think, like everybody in the country, its going to take a while to shift it.
Good grief T'Bird, I bet that your new machine won't live that long. That has to be some kind of a record. Modern white goods seem to have a built in obsolescence and break down the minute the warranty runs out.

Oh LB, he's lovely! I did wonder if you would get another wee kitty but he's adorable and will be just such good company. I'm so pleased for you, you had Lily such a long time and she left a huge whole in your daily life. Cricket will be such a lovely companion , not a replacement, just his own kitty. Lovely colouring, is he house trained? Love his name!

Sorry to hear you've still got that cold LB. It must be a particularly virulent strain to last weeks. Take care and don't overdo things. Plenty of downtime stroking Cricket will do wonders for stress levels and blood pressure.πŸ˜‰πŸ™‚

Thank you Hazel. Yes he is fully house trained. When you get a cat from Cats Protection they are neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, de-flead and wormed so he has come with a very clean bill of health.

I thought you would get another cat, LB. Didn't like to say anything while you were grieving for Lily. He looks lovely, seems quite at home already. Same colour scheme as two of my past cats, Atom and Alexa.

I spent 2 hours outside this afternoon struggling with digging up and re-planting my American Pillar climbing rose. It was supposed to be Darcey Bussell and had the David Austin label on it but someone had made a mistake. It is now planted against the nectarine tree in the middle of the vegetable garden. Tomorrow I will dig a hole to fit a cardboard box in to fill with new soil and compost to plant a new red rose in the middle of the round rose bed. It was a struggle to get American Pillar out, OH had to help. I got very hot, despite the cold. At least it was sunny.

    Thank you Busy and @Bluejayway.
Busy that was a monumental task you carried out. Is the cardboard box plus new soil/compost to avoid rose sickness?

Yes, LB. It has worked before when I've done it.
