@Ladybird4 The gooseberry bush is transplanted!! Yes, I did it.Β But I did have to root around in an unopened cardboard box to find a pair of gardening gloves. Then untie the fork from the spade.
Thankfully, the previous owner of this place was a keen gardener, so the soil is well dug. It wasn't hard work. Phew!!
I had a lovely Christmas, despite being without OH,Β thanks to Son 2, his lovely French wife and the 5 littlies.
There were lots of presents, but they weren't all big or expensive, just fun to open and exciting for the children. I got a lovely pair of soft leather gloves, winter slippers (I've been looking for a comfy pair, glad I didn't find any!), hand cream, chocolate hazelnuts, a gardeners' calendar and some other things.
We had a delish tartare of salmon with avocado, mango, pomegranate seeds and a lime dressing, then fillet steaks done on the BBQ, Yorkshire pudding and a selection of vegetables. Chocolate mousse for pud. Champagne to start, then ChΓ’teauneuf du Pape. In the afternoon the youngest went to bed for a sleep, they had been up very early. Son went for a muddy bike ride and 2 grandsons and I watched The Great Escape. It's almost like the cinema as Son projects the films onto a big white wall in the sitting room.
We will be celebrating all over again on Thursday. My 3 other children will be coming with their families. Son 2 has a large dormitory bedroom in the loft conversion where all the children sleep. Daughter 2 and I will go home in the afternoon as we don't live too far away.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good morning everyone. I have been awake since four oβclock .Read some of my book .Ready Β for a cuppa . Much to do today ,I think I will get up and make a start .Nurse coming to see OH Β .Grocery delivery at lunch time .Lots of indoor jobs to do .Enjoy your day folks .
