Glad your open house was successful @rowlandscastle444. We had a lunchtime party a few months after our move in Norfolk. That was a good occasion too.
I'm going to lunch with friends today, the ones I went to last week, a week early by mistake!
Sorry about your clock @Songbird-2, I hope it can be mended. My grandfather clock glass was broken when I moved house. I told the removal company and filled in a form but they wouldn't do anything. A nice clock repairing man in town repaired it. He serviced it too.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Morning everyone, hardly slept last night, feeling very tired this morning.Β So pleased your neighbours arrived yesterday afternoon @rowlandscastle444 and you had an enjoyable time getting to know them.Β I'm so lucky to have lovely neighbours too.Β Have a lovely time with your friends @Busy-Lizzie @Ladybird4 hope you manage to get out in your garden. Ours is too wet at the moment. Need to get rid of some leaves. Have a good day everyone, take care. Its the weekend already,Β where did that week go!Β
Good morning SGL. I couldn't agree more about how quickly time seems to fly by. I have been thinking that with Christmas Day and New Year's Day being on Mondays, they have almost sneaked under the radar of the weekend. If anyone is planning fireworks for the celebrations, I really hope that the weather will be kind. I don't think I will be able to stay awake to see in 2024. I'll just catch up with the TV coverage of the world fireworks displays on the 1st. I always look forward to seeing those from Australia.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
I apologize for my absent last few days. Same as SGL I slept very poorly. It's raining, but still very warm. I saw on forecast that we could expect some sort of colder weather around 15th January. Next week I'll be back to school, but pupils have one more week to rest. Holidays always pass very quickly.Β
Good morning everyone .We donβt stay up to see the new year in .We look forward to the concert from Vienna on BBC2 on New Yearβs Day . Take care everyone .The wind is getting up again and heavy rain is forecast.
Good morning all. We had a frost last night, cars and roofs are covered this morning but grass and lower down are alright. Im looking out of the kitchen window where I can see the birds have finally found the fat balls I put out. There's the resident robin and a few black birds and lots of sparrows waiting underneath the fat balls for scooping up all the bits that drop down. Β And we have sparrows slashing about in the bird bath too. What a lovely sight to behold. Ante, hope next week, minus the pupils, will be a gentle work in back to school Β for you. It's funny how holidays zoom past and work drags. π€π€Enjoy this weekend now. We, too, don't bother stopping up for New Year these days, too tired. @star gaze lily, it's horrible when you don't sleep well so try and take it easy today, gentle jobs and walk abouts. Our energy levels feel quite depleted at the moment so its do a bit, then rest Β a bit!
Good morning Ante and Ruby. Good to see you Ante. I expect you have been enjoying your break from work and maybe you have been making your growing plans for the new season? My plans for today were undone as Marti is persisting in hanging around. I have been through my wardrobe and sorted out a pile of clothes to get rid of. There is a lady who lives near my Bestie and she organises things to be sent off to Ukraine so I will be taking these items over there on Thursday.

Good morning Hazel, you weren't there when I posted. Goodness you had frost! I think I would like that as a bit of a change to what I've got at the moment. Funny you talking about depleted energy levels as I feel similar. It must be the time of the year.
