Good morning all and a very Happy New Year to you all. Plenty of fireworks going off at midnight here, really loud bangs. Didn't sleep too well so feeling tired this morning.
The sun is shining but it's still cold so won't be venturing far today. OH needs to pop into town for some crafty things but it will be a quick visit. He is making his own/our own Christmas cards for this year so is building up his materials.πŸ™‚
Hope you all have a lovely day.

Good morning and Happy New Year.

It rained heavily last night but has cleared for now and we even have some blue sky. Might even get out for a walk later.

We had some neighbours round to see in the new year so had, for us, a late night/early morning 😁.

I hope you all have a good day whatever your plans are.

    Afternoon all,

I've been Marti-dodging the last couple of days. Another bucketful of weeds and the big, new, unplanted bed in the front garden is virtually weed-free. I've put the first plant in the ground, Veronica Oxford Blue, hoping that will spread and flop over one of the sleepers to soften an edge. Also dotted a few cyclamen around. It's going to be a very slow, piecemeal process but I think I've got a (sort of!) plan in my head.

The majority of the planting will have to be after I finish this job. It looks like that will be early April at the moment.

Oh my goodness Biglad, that sounds like a right millstone round your neck. At least it is at a time of the year when forays outside into the garden could be interrupted by weather conditions.

Lunched with wife, my ex-girlfriend and her husband, plus two friends of ours.Β
A good time was had by all - and a muddy walk!!
I don't know whether my ex has told her husband about her link with me, but I didn't mention it. After all, it's been 40 years since we parted ways. My wife was her best friend.

Phewww indeed  @rowlandscastle444 the meeting could have been very interesting🀭
Your ex must have been very understanding at the time to still be friends.....unless they became friends again after awhile.😁

Absolutely pouring down here. Fed up with this weather.

SGL, its pouring down here too. I just nipped out to put some rubbish in the bin and I had to be quite quick in getting back in. Its also very chilly.

Wife and ex-girlfriend became friends again after losing touch for about 35 years. I only became friends with ex-girlfriend about 2 months ago, which is the only other time I've seen her since we parted. She'd been out with my wife, and wife invited her in. Briefly.

So, while I found today a little tense, basically I think all is forgiven - but not forgotten.Β Β

I've been married nearly 35 years. Ex-girlfriend has been married around 30 years I think. We've all moved on.πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«
