  • Tomorrow we're meeting up with friends for a country walk and then a pub lunch - in a place that we know is good.
It will be a muddy walk, and windy, but if it's really bad, we'll just go for the lunch. My wife has organised it, and the lady who used to be "my girl" before I switched to the one who is now my wife, is coming along - with her husband!!
    That'll make things interesting!!
    😳🫣

I haven’t read back still half asleep. I hope all those celebrating enjoy themselves .
The weather here is dreadful. No gardening again .Take care if anyone is travelling today.
  • Morning everyone, the weather here during the night was horrendous. It kept me awake, rain, huge hailstones hammering the windows, thunder and lightning and the wind howling here too @rowlandscastle444 didn't like it at all. Also had a power cut and had to do the clocks etc this morning.
I've looked outside, things seem OK and no damage.
Still raining, but just drizzling. Having a lazy day today.
Ooh @rowlandscastle444 an ex with you today 😉😉🤭
@Songbird-2 so glad you got a refund so easily. They are good at sorting  things out quickly.
Have a good day everyone, take care.

Morning all. Sorry to hear some of you have had a rough night with bad sleep and horrendous sounding weather. The high gales were forecast for some areas but I think we were fortunate in missing them. However, we have had winds here on and off for the least year, a very windy twelve months.  Hope no damage has been sustained in affected areas.
OH and I are going out to a GC today. We are on the hunt for some snowdrops even though we can't seem to grow them. Tried for years but with no luck. We'll see how we get on this year if we can find any.
Thanks @star gaze lily,,you never know, we may find a clock in the gc!
@rowlandscastle444, lunching with an ex, gulp😲🤭
@Rubee, how is your OH doing? Any better? Also hope Rosie is alright. I miss seeing her posts. Hope Alfie is okay too.
  • Enjoy your mooch round the GC @Songbird-2 hope you find some snowdrops. And 🤞 they grow for you. I wonder if putting them in a large pot could help.  Such a shame all our shops are disappearing and it's getting more difficult to find items for the home. Have you a J. Lewis nearby they might have a clock,  or try on line they deliver free to W@*tro$€
Rain has now stopped and the wind has eased.
  • @Rubee hope your OH is improving with the help of his new medication.
Sending best wishes to Rosie too, hope she's feeling better. Have a restful day Rubee, take care.

Hazel and Lily ,my OH is feeling some relief after his new injections. I am cautiously optimistic.Rosie is very busy .I popped round yesterday and took her some teabags. She had just about run out .We all drink a lot of tea. No coffee drinkers in our family .
  • Got absolutely drenched walking back from church, with rain almost horizontal!! Stinging!
Five minutes later, the sun was shining!!
    Sigh!!!🙄

@star gaze lily, we had a nice mooch around the gc but the plant section was almost empty! Apart from some shrubs and roses and the usual primroses and pansies there was  very little  else. However, they did have half a table taken over with various snowdrop varieties. Success! We got four little pots and we did ,actually, think the same as you and bought  a nice pot for them to grow in. Same wavelength! I'll do them later on when I've hunted out  the horticultural grit. We also picked up a bag of cactus compost ( I took a cactus from mum’s and I do so want to keep it and get it to grow ) and another bag of topsoil.
Since we've got home, I've taken all the outside lights down, dried them off and boxed them up ready for next year. The little tree will come down tomorrow.
    @rowlandscastle444, that's typical isn't it? Sod's law.......Nevertheless I hope you enjoyed your morning.
@Rubee, I am so pleased to hear about your OH. Lets  hope it continues. Nice to hear about Rosie @wfnp5bk4spsSNFYKh1 too.

Good afternoon all. @rowlandscastle444 my weather has been the opposite round to yours. Sunny first and now torrential rain. I am very intrigued about your meeting tomorrow!! I've spent an age this morning transferring birthdays and anniversaries from my old to my new calendar which is now hanging up and ready to be informative! Note to self - make sure you check the calendar!
Hazel, it was great to hear about the refund and I agree 100% with what SGL said about that company. Pleased you got your snowdrops. Buying dry snowdrop bulbs is usually very disappointing as they are unlikely to grow well. It is always better to buy them in pots, growing, or in the 'green' later in the spring. If you wanted them in the garden you could plant them straight from those pots.
More good news regarding your OH and his medication Ruby. I echo Hazel in saying long may this continue. Eeek I would hate to run out of teabags!
