Hazel, like you I have not yet started on my decorations but now the Fayre is done with I might be able to start this week. Tomorrow it is cake and carols at the Food Bank. It is not a working day so there won't be any clients. Thats at midday and then I am quizzing again in the evening. My stamps arrived yesterday so that is another job for tomorrow - getting all my cards in the post.
Errrm Ante! What's all this about 'old folks'?? Just because you are a young whippersnapper (I'll let you look that up!) Only teasing Ante Just remember you will be one of 'those' one day! ๐ด๐ฝ
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
I am signing out for tonight. Hope Ruby gets a better sleep tonight - you too SGL. I don't think Hazel will need rocking tonight after entertaining 23 and then going on to her daughter's. By the way:
For Hazel's daughter.

LB, ๐๐๐. That's the exact reaction I wanted provoke. It's of course only small joke, and I love expression "whippersnapper". Must admit that I heard it for the first time. It's another Monday morning, warm, but grey and wet. Two more weeks and we will have our winter break. My only concernย is rain, which doesn't allow my to finish with my lights. According to forecast it will be like that till Friday. Well, it's time for cup of tea and soon must go out.
Good morning Ante You are a cheeky rascal! Your little joke did make me smile!
Talking of rain, its running down my windows here. That must be a huge rain cloud stretching over us all.
Enjoying my first cuppa after a great night's sleep last night. Perhaps that is the answer to sleepless nights - have a Christmas Fayre! The final total for ours was ยฃ2100.

Morning all. Slept okay last night too LB, but these dark mornings are all too tempting to turn over and have just another five minutes. Sun is shining but haven't been out yet but inside is nice and warm. Must ย pop into town later on when OH back from his weekly sport session. ( don't know where he found the energy this morning). I must get Lily's TV on. Ante, I really like your idea of the patio hidden away in the shade, it will be a godsend in the heat. Hope you manage to get all your ( outside?) lights sorted this week. ย Think our schools break up this week. Can't believe we are only two weeks away from Christmas Day๐ฒ It's always nice to see your annual xmas candles being lit each week. The ย biscuits to sister will be a welcome gift and sent with much love.ย OH sister is having a cataract seen to tomorrow, last week she had a leg seen to too, so she's going to have to contend with a lot, all at once.ย
Good morning everyone. Hazel thatโs exactly what I did .Just five more minutes .I woke up two hours later .Ante I hope the rain stops before Friday .Then you can get your lights up outside. LB the takings from your Christmas Fayre are excellent. Your good nights sleep will certainly be a factor of the hard work you will have put in yesterday . I have been involved in several similarย fayres. Great fun but very tiring.Enjoy your day folks .
There was a howling gale in the night, woke me a couple of times.
It didn't rain so we walked to our friends' house last night. The street was looking pretty, quite a lot of the houses have lights on them, but quite tastefully done.
We had a lovely Christmassy dinner with decorations and crackers. They are the friends who also have a house in France. They are going to help OH apply for a Visa so he can stay longer in France in summer.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Snuck out for a quick dig - wrestled what looks like a large chunk of concrete out of the deepening hole. Also, came across some polystyrene and what felt and looked like a layer of tarmac ย
I reckon a few inches more depth and try and spike down as you wisely suggested, @Songbird-2. At least I haven't completely wasted what promises to be the only fine day of the week.
Busy, glad you had an enjoyable night with friends and after a delightful walk through the village. When we took 23 to the Panto we took the car down into town and saw some wonderful lights and trees from various houses and on lampposts. We don't normally venture out after dark so it was a very pleasant sight for us to see all the lovely Christmas decorations everywhere.ย Have to pop into town when OH back from hairdressers and then all the jobs for the day will be done. Hope LB's having a marvellous time at the Food Bank and is then raring to go whizzing tonight.ย How is the throw coming along @Rubee?ย
