A cute kitten is preparing New Year-Snoopy New Year
A happy new year one and all. We now start to think about what 2024 holds in store for us. I hope that Ante's winter wheat proves correct and that we get a super growing year.
Good morning @rowlandscastle444 I slept right through the start of this year - all I heard on retiring to bed was the rain battering against my windows. Heaven help anyone who was planning a firework display near me last night. I've seen a few glimpses on TV of Sydney, Athens and London and the displays did indeed look spectacular.
SGL, enjoy getting your calendar filled in.

Good morning LB and all to follow. Happy New Year!

LB, I also hope that my Christmas wheat will be a correct sign for all our gardens. It's still green and lavish. Later this week it will be a treat to wild animals at cottage.ย

Fist day of the year is same as last one, grey and with rain. I managed to stay awake till midnight, because program was good, at least for me. It will be another quiet day, and as every year, I'll sow some seeds, peppers and chilies.ย

Wish you all a lovely and peaceful day.ย

Good morning Ante. It will be a quiet day for me too. Like Hazel, I may start to take down some decorations today. My heart has not been in things this time. I saved some tomato seeds - as shown by Monty Don last year - but I think it may still be a little bit too early to start them off yet.

LB, I'll keep my inside decorations till Epiphany (Three kings day) as usual, but outside lights might go down tomorrow. I'll not risk damage by wind, or more likely rain. I was outside in front garden and found a lovely present, which wasn't there yesterday, pure white hellebore flowers.

That is a good idea Ante. The rain is absolutely hammering down here and it is very windy. Not a wonderful start to the year but things can only get better.

Good morning everyone. Ante and LB the weather here is appalling. I was hoping for some time in the garden today . Plenty to keep me occupied indoors ,I will get on with that .

    Morning all.

I heard lots of fireworks being let off when I was in bed. Wasn't raining then but it is now. Won't be a gardening day.

I'm not taking down any of my few decorations or the tree until after OH gets here on Sunday.

Good morning Ruby, Bluejayway, Busy and Debs. I have just been having a chat with Jack and wishing him a Happy New Year. He said that there were loads of fireworks last night! I never heard a thing so that must mean I had a decent night's sleep for once. Long may that continue!
