  • Watched the early evening news, then got tea sorted. Blowing a gale, and chucking it down with rain.
Spent the evening playing Scrabble. I even won!
  • Morning all. It seems quieter outside. Here at least.ย
We have an "open house" this afternoon, so hoping that a number of our neighbours will drop in for a chat, drink and cake. If not, then I'm going to have lots of cake and biscuits to get through in the next week. Plus, I'd like to meet them.
  • Morning everyone, rained during the night. I could hear it pounding on the windows and so very windy again.ย
It's pitch black outside still, so can't see the garden. But the wind has stopped and I think the rain has too.ย
I started to watch the new two part Agatha Christie yesterday afternoon, rather weird, I gave up too @Songbird-2
Hope you meet all your neighbours later @rowlandscastle444 ......but there's always cake ๐ŸŸ๐Ÿฅฎ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿช๐Ÿ˜‰
Have a good day everyone, take care.

    Good morning @rowlandscastle444 and SGL
I have just been watching pieces of paper bowling up the lane like tumbleweed in the brisk wind outside. Luckily my bin is still upright (I wedged it into the hedge last night) so the rubbish is not mine. I can still see that many of us will be doing a good deal of tidying up in our gardens this morning and it won't have anything to do with plants!
Well done on the Scrabble win @rowlandscastle444. I wish I lived closer to you , cake sounds delicious!

Lovely, lovely pictures this morning of Carol Kirkwood and her wedding to her partner Steve. Such a treasure!
Today is the birthday of my Australian sister-in-law and also of her daughter. It used to be my Mum's too so you were right in what you said the other day T'Bird.

Good morning everyone. Very noisy night again . I havenโ€™t been out to see if there is any damage. OH seems a little more relaxed . I am hoping this is a sign that the new drug is working.
I hope those who woke early will get a rest at some point today .

    Morning all.

Now I don't mind that my recording of the new Agatha Christie failed!

I had a great day yesterday with my families. My 14 grandchildren (2 to 18) get on really well. We all enjoyed lunch, adults in the kitchen, children in the dining room. Everyone was pleased with their presents, including me. 2 of the roses I'd ordered were from daughter 2, The Albrighton Rambler and Chevy Chase.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Good morning Ruby and Busy.
Ruby, that is good news about your OH. I'm still keeping fingers crossed for you that this medication does work.
Busy, the description of your day sounds wonderful. I remember taking my Mum to Albrighton to visit David Austin's rose gardens many years ago. We loved it.

  • Glad to read your OH medication seems to be working @Rubee have a restful day.
December is a very busy birthday month for you @Ladybird4
@Busy-Lizzie the new Agatha Christie stated off ok, but got very strange and not at all like the old ones. Stopped watching after about half way through, tried to watch the rest.....I thought it might be me not able to concentrate properly.....but gave up again, not bothering with the second episode. Glad to read @Songbird-2 thought it was strange too.ย
Sounds like you had a lovely day with your family @Busy-Lizzie
    Have a good day everyoneย

    Morning all,

Another one who tried "Murder is Easy" and gave up. Not like me as I normally see any old rubbish through to the end once I've started!

Just put my bin out. It's bright and breezy here, but it's household waste so a bit heavier than the others. Hopefully, there will be no fallers before the wagon comes.

Meeting up with a couple of friends from school later. Probably the only time I'll leave the house this week :oย ย
