That's a nuisance @Busy-Lizzie, how did the original crack happen? Do you have any Duck or Gorilla tape handy? That reminds me we've just ran out of Gorilla tape so need to get some more this week. I like to keep it handy for emergency mending! I've done some more tidying and had a chat with my daughter who's been unwell with a rotten cold. Hope she recovers before she comes to stay.
My son asked me to get hold of a tray of ready prepared tiny cubed potatoes to go with the big fillet of salmon I'm serving on Friday. Sent me a link which I've just looked at and they are basically just chips! Cubed potato coated in a light batter - so rather unhealthy. Methinks he's been seduced by the advertising!
Morning everyone. We’ve woken to cold rain - I can’t get this weather stuff right in my head.
Thanks for all the birthday wishes for my son. H didn’t have a good day apparently. He had to drive to Wagga to sort out his Santa team and get the photos done. His drive was in very heavy rainstorms both to and from (which we also had).
I’m in to town this morning for a pathology visit prior to next week’s Dr visit. 🧐
Crazy weather here. We’ve had to light the wood heater ( in December, ) just a week before Christmas. I’m freezing.
And, to top it off today in town, I lined up for the usual blood test, and then she said what about the urine specimen? First I’d heard of that being required this visit. I’m sure my GP didn’t mention it. Too bad, so I’d had hang around town for a couple of hours, drinking apple juice, etc. until I could oblige . 🤬. Fed up.
Good morning all 😊 ☕️ Hope your evening improves @Pat E 🤞
I hope everyone’s had a restful night.
I heard from poor @WonkyWomble yesterday that her bank account had been emptied by scammers … the bank are sorting it out and she’ll be refunded, but she really didn’t need that stress. 😡
We both slept well … I didn’t hear son come back but I did look out of the window about midnight and his ‘bus’ was parked outside.
Not a lot to be done today other than make an oxtail stew in the slow cooker … I would normally be baking of course but I can’t do that until after the oven is fixed 🤞

Morning everybody, I agree with you @Pat E, the weather does seem to be crazy. We did wake up (latish) to some sunshine which was very welcome.
What a disaster for for your daughter @Dovefromabove, she certainly doesn't need that at any time, let alone just before Christmas. Hope your cooker part turns up. I don't know if I will get the time/desire to make mince pies but if I have a spare moment today, it occurred to me that I could make the pastry today and just put it in the fridge overnight.
Fingers crossed @punkdoc, don't worry about not posting, we all understand.
OH thinks he's got a cold coming (as usual at Xmas) - my thoughts are not repeatable!
What mad weather you seem to be having over there @Pat E! Floods where my brother is in Brisbane but they are on a hill, so he should be all right. I've given up on trying to get my brother to give me any information at all. As I said to him, years ago, when he first moved there, I got more information from the stamp than I did from his card.
Christmas food stuff today. Must write some lists.
Oh poor Wonky! I hope the bank refunds it quickly, what a worry.
I went to have my car tyres changed to winter ones this morning. I worry about what if it snows and I'm stuck. We were almost stuck at Stansted when the Beast from the East happened.

Hope both @punkdoc and @Hostafan1 are both okay.

Sorry I have not been around much, but am struggling with health issues and whether / when I might be able to get hip done.

Glad the cooker will be fixed this week @Dovefromabove.
