Home safely after rather a mad dash across Paris last night. Unfortunately, the station that links to our hometown is having major works done (has been for years) so the metro station is closed, meant we had to walk quite a way to get to it. So cold, but we got there with a few minutes to spare and managed to buy a sandwich from a shop in the station. Midnight before we got home though and of course the house was cold too. Lovely weekend though, worth it. Now I just need to try and get my money back. The conductor has given me a number to call, so hopefully that'll work.
Anyway, back to work today, a lot of cakes and Mince Pies to bake.
Good luck with OH's op @Red maple, hope you're a better nurse than me. 😅
Not seen strawberries here for months @Pat E, they look very good. Can't beat homegrown.
Have a good day all. 😘

it's snowing well here. Started making the Christmas tree but I realised that I don't have any lights so the little will I had mustered yesterday disappeared completely. Not much Christmas spirit around, perhaps because it's going to be just us two, the kids can't come. And yet I should be counting my blessings, even if I hurt my hand this morning trying to open a box 🤬. I am sorry about your troubles @D0rdogne_Damsel years ago we did get a refund from CFF for a delay, a leaflet was given to all passenger about how to go about it! I bet things have changed!
A minestrone is on the back burner slowly bubbling away. I can smell the basil I put in, the scent of summer while whiteness is all round.
Had a lie in today (minus the 0500 call to cat breakfast) and will be mustering the energy to do a Christmas shopping list. I don’t buy much these days but something for the nieces and MIL. For the work team I usually do a goodie bag for the office (chocs, sweets, coffee etc) but this year I have some new fellow team leaders to chip in so we have bought each person a goodie bag.
A happy first day of the week for everyone - I hope it goes well as I expect Christmas preparations are starting for many of you.
Enjoy your week off from your hectic job @AuntyRach You deserve it. Your weather must be pretty nice @Pat E if you have strawberries already.
We had some rain on Saturday which was welcome and brilliant sunshine yesterday but it was very cold with -2°C in the morning. A shower this morning right in the middle of the dog walk but it was too far to turn back. We didn't melt!! Sunshine now but the temperatures are so much lower than last week - probably not over 10°C for this week.

Morning all, the heavy rain has just about eased up so OH has dashed out (or rather hobbled out!) to get the morning paper. It really doesn't feel like a Monday morning somehow. More washing is in the machine. I was really pleased to see that the driveway contractors took the trouble to contour the drive so the rain runs off to one side and into the flower beds. As it's tarmac and on a steep slope to the road, I was a bit worried about drainage but it appears ok.
Glad you made it home ok @D0rdogne_Damsel, what a rush. Presumably you are now full on into the Christmas rush at CdG, is it going well? We haven't heard much about it lately.
Your strawberries look very moreish @Pat E, mine were a dead loss this year.
Hope the op goes well for your OH @Red maple and that @AuntyRach enjoys her week off.

Just getting ready to take OH to hospital for his op, so just popped in to say hello.
Hope you all have a decent Monday.

No plans for today, apart from buying stamps and ironing.
