We are both still fairly crook, still in bed and still just on fluids, but I don’t feel quite as bad as I did 2 days ago. Whilst it is not unusual for me to get like this with viruses, I have never seen Moira like this, she normally has the constitution of an Ox.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
@AuntyRach they are made of sweet brioche but nowadays you can get them with chocolate (and the rest!) but always sweet. It means "little men" my kids used to get them at school too.
woke to a very keen frost today. It’s all set to change back to rain from tomorrow for about a week according to the forecast 🙁 - I much prefer this brighter weather.
I hope you and Moira start to rapidly improve @punkdoc, keep up with the fluids.
Had a lovely afternoon yesterday meeting former colleagues for afternoon tea. It was so good to be able to catch up and sort a date we could all attend.
Goodness @Pat E , that’s very hot. I really dislike high temps, I struggle when it gets to mid 30’s.
I’m in agreement with AuntyRach @D0rdogne_Damsel in that you’d be wise not to get too involved if possible.
Well, I’d better go, I’ve got jobs to be getting on with.
Having a dry day here today but bitterly cold. Daughter is now back at work following her 6 month break so she has been letting the dogs out for their morning visit before leaving at 5am for work. The dogs are not impressed! I couldn't persuade them to go out when I woke at 7 and they refused to go at all until about half an hour ago when they must have been quite desperate to dig themselves out from under their various blankets/beds. Lazy lot, of course they would have been up with a rush had someone started the quad for a run off across the field, but a quick trip to the garden for an unnecessary wee - no chance! I hope the @punkdocs and the @WonkyWombles soon recover from the covid, there seem to be many different variations around at the moment. Glad your evening went well @Busy-Lizzie and that meal sounds lovely. Sorry @Lizzie27 I do get somewhat confused remembering things, plus you all chat so much that the pages rush past and I forget what has been posted. Courage @D0rdogne_Damsel you have been given some good advice and I'm sure your wonderful young man Charlie will prove to be as sensible as his lovely Mother. Hope @Hostafan1 is now rested after his journey home and enjoying some warmth with the new heating system. Have a good day folks.
Afternoon everybody, dry and cold, then a bit of fog which has now cleared. OH's lovely nephew arrived earlier than anticipated and brought back my stone birdbath bowl which he has mended for me. Quite a complicated repair it seemed, hope the birds appreciate it. Then we walked to the local shop for exercise and fresh air, had an early lunch and I then drove OH to the hospital for his routine tests. We're expecting DIL later but she's going to have it sit quietly through the last episode of Shetland tonight!
Hope you can both manage some soup soon @punkdoc. Best wishes for a speedy recovery @WonkyWomble.
I'd hate to have to get up at 5 am to go to work @AnnaB, I don't do early mornings at all. It's just as well we don't have dogs either.
Good news is that my brother has arranged a move into a private care home for a couple of weeks. Hopes to be out of hospital tonight with luck.
I like the sound of those treats @coccinella, I've got a sweet tooth!

Hot toddy ‘stat’ to @punkdoc and wife plus @WonkyWomble and hubby. You know if you are really poorly if making it or drinking it is off the cards 🥃
I agree that cold, clear and dry is preferable to wet any day @redmaple🌲
I’ve done some HW and nearly finished crimbo shopping. Just MIL to think of a present for 🤔
Go easy everyone.
