Thanks for the new thread @Dovefromabove, always a kind and thoughtful introduction.
Happy birthday @Hostafan1, hope you get 27° degrees today to match your age. 😉
Charlie and I are on the train to Paris, then another up to Valenciennes to stay with a friend for the weekend. Very much looking forward to it, apparently we're going to a festive theatre production tomorrow afternoon. I've packed lots of layers, it's cold up north. 🥶
Hope all with ills and annoyances get through the day, as @annaB says, time passes very fast, so hopefully all the problems pass quickly too.
I've signed up to Moonpig for cards, can't find any I like in France, and even then they're expensive. I know it's a bit impersonal, but hopefully efficient. You can plan ahead and hopefully not miss anyone.
Anyway, signal poor, so I'm posting whilst I can, have a good day all.

A friend abroad uses Moonpig for birthday and Christmas cards. She does use her own paintings though, which adds a lovely touch. Maybe you could use some photos of your seasonal baking? I’m sure they be admired and appreciated?
Morning all, cold and wet again today, but I'm looking out at my group of Cornus alba Baton Rouge planted in a graveled area, the red stems are spectacular with the rain on them, such a cheery sight. Happy Birthday @Hostafan1 enjoy your day.
Thank heavens for this new thread @Dovefromabove - I wouldn't have realised that we are now in December without it! Just emerged today from a few days hibernation in bed with a really nasty cough and cold. I still have it but am desperate to change the bedding and get under the shower. I may return to bed after that. Have been kept amused by BBC Sounds and Audible, which let me snooze a bit - my only respite from constant coughing.
And sooooo pleased that I am not in charge of the Christmas Street Market on Sunday. I'm not even sure if I'll be able to visit it - yet another event I will miss out on, having been unable to use the tickets I had bought for two other things.
So, I haven't caught up with how everyone is doing but it seems @Hostafan1 is having a sunny birthday somewhere. Lucky I didn't have tickets to join him.
Thanks, @Dovefromabove, for getting up in the small hours to start this months thread! Still chilly here, but the sun is out! We have done a couple of urgent house jobs this morning ( at last!) and headed out for lunch. Today’s special turned out to be a festive turkey sandwich , well filled with stuffing and pigs in blankets. We have shared one with a side order of chips, delicious, and hopefully left us with enough energy for a walk. Waitrose on the way home, then maybe I’ll get myself organised to start writing Christmas cards. I will try and phone an old friend, haven’t seen her for 20 years, but didn’t get a card from her last year, not a good sign. One year, I decided to phone everyone on my list instead of sending cards. After getting in touch with several, I found it too upsetting to hear what had befallen them over the years, so I reverted to the cards again. Not close friends, or living near enough to visit, mainly people I’d worked with, or went to school / college with, and the annual card has really been our only contact over the years.
Good afternoon everyone, December already o my. Very frosty and dull here, the sun finally broke through but we only got an hour to help warm the house. The frost has not lifted from the bottom of the garden or the rooves of houses opposite that are in shade. I have been carpet cleaning this morning not all of it but a bit in the bay window, the Boston fern has made it all sticky, probably scale jnsect, so I have to deal with that now. Glad you're able to enjoy the weather @Hostafan1.
another new month - I agree they pass by so quickly.
It’s been another very cold day today, and quite dismal too, with mist which keeps thickening and thinning. I’m pleased not to be going out any more today. This morning I helped set up the tables in church for the Christmas fair tomorrow and then when I got back, OH and I popped out to our local GC for fish Friday, and very nice it was, too.
OH got the tree out of the garage whilst I was out, so it’s set up in the room now waiting for the lights and baubles to go on it. It’s up much sooner than we normally do it, but my OH has his carpel tunnel op on Monday, so we need to do the tree before then as it’s a two person job to put the lights round it. It will stay unlit and undecorated for another week or so, though.
Hope you’ve enjoyed your birthday @Hostafan1. As others have said, though, it’s bitterly cold here, you’ll need your thermals ready for your return to Blighty.

Many thanks for your birthday wishes.
A lovely 26C today with a breeze enough to keep the sand flies, and sweatyness away
