Do hope you both get better soon @punkdoc.

Just had a text from my nephew to say my brother's consultant told him today he could go home tomorrow but later the Head Nurse said oh no he can't, he's still got an infection! Who will win I wonder? Brother is hopping up and down in rage and is likely to discharge himself, this is his fourth week and he's so fed up. Doesn't help that there is a nutter in the next bed who keeps helping himself to brother's belongings and has to be frequently manhandled into his own bed by multiple staff.

Morning everyone. Another warm day ahead I think.  Hubby has gone to town for another Oncologist appointment. Tomorrow I have to go in for another scan on my thyroid. Oh, the joys of aging.  😏

I was talking to OH about your Cunninhams Skinks just last evening @Pat E, and how they like chopped carrots. 😊

    Morning all

snow all gone, we have had rain overnight. Now is a little warmer with laden skies.
Very stressful for your brother @Lizzie27. I hope it will be sorted soon.

Hope you get better soon too @punkdoc. Best wishes @Pat E for your thyroid scan, I was 36 when I had my first. Will you be chopping carrots then ☺?

Morning all, after very heavy rain all day yesterday, it's dried up a bit today but is colder.
Off in a minute to have my tootsies pampered which I'm looking forward to. More washing to do later, towels this time. Seems the weekly change over comes around very quickly.

Hope all with ailments get better quickly. Bit worried about Mr & Mrs punkdoc if they are ill and on their own.

    Afternoon all,
Sorry to hear of the passing of your friend's OH @Busy-Lizzie
Great to hear that OH's surgery has gone well @Red maple
I'm glad to hear that you have arrived home safe and sound @D0rdogne_Damsel
    Enjoy your week off @AuntyRach
It is wonderful that they have made such a thorough job of your new driveway and I hope your Brother will be able to get home soon @Lizzie27
I hope you and Moira  will both feel much better soon @punkdoc
I'd also like to echo everyone else who thanked @Dovefromabove for her warm and eloquent words at the beginning of this December thread.

On Saturday I washed the salt from both my Mother's and my own house windows.  The windows hadn't been sparkly-clean for an hour when a bird flew into one.  Happily the bird was only stunned, and after a couple of minutes it was able to fly away again (I had been preparing to drive it to the local vet, 10km from here).  So I've ordered special stickers to put onto the windows so that birds can see that there is glass there.
The bright, cold but settled weather is beginning to break down, but it was glorious while it lasted.
    Best wishes to all.
