I posted this morning from a remote cafe and again later from another stopping point, again it seems they failed and disappeared...
Anyhow, have a good day all, I am having a self-care, me, me me day, so leisurely shopping for stocking fillers, a nice lunch and then decorating my tree with Carols on in the background this evening, trying to squeeze a hair cut in too.Ā
Morning all, that's a big relief @Dovefromabove. I'm just waiting for the cleaners to finish then I've got mincepies to bake. Done the ironing but have more washing in the machine, so more ironing probably this afternoon and then I think I'm ready.
It's blowing a hooly here but we do have shafts of sunshine every now and then.
We both didn't sleep much last night, no idea why, got up at 1 am and had a cup of tea then went back to bed at 2 am, think I probably eventually dropped off about 3 ish. The alarm went off at 8 so we could have breakfast, shower and dress before the cleaners arrived. Feel like a zombie now!
Just checked my Sainsbury's delivery and thankfully they have everything on my order, including the large salmon fillet for tomorrow's night Xmas dinner with all the family. I have forgotten the sprouts but as I don't like them, I'm not bothered.
I could never sleep on planes either @Allotment Boy, found it too noisy with too many people laughing at the films they were watching.Ā
So glad your oven is working, the baking days sound wonderful! Iāll just sit quietly in the corner of your kitchen and inhale the aromas of delicious things cooking!Ā @D0rdogne_Damsel, Charlie is very much in fashion. Almost every young lad I passed yesterday had a similar fringe, and thatās after the ones I posted about yesterday!Ā Trying to have a calm day, giving the guest bathroom a clean, (Iāve discovered OH has more paint pots and plumbing parts stowed in there) and finalising my shopping list for tomorrow morning. Turkey crown to collect, plus veg and dairy stuff. I must get enough milk, we only use half a pint a day, but daughter and husband drink lots of tea with lots of milk, I always underestimate. And Iāll need extra for the trifle custard.Ā
Disaster! The one thing I forgot to check was how much flour I had in the cupboard - not enough, as I've just discovered. I'm far too tired to walk down to the village and OH has not long come back so will postpone mincepies till tomorrow.
Glad you've got your oven working again @Dovefromabove - throw some flour my way please!
Itās very very blustery here and now showers are an added feature. The wind disturbed my sleep several times through the night, but there doesnāt appear to be too many casualties in the garden - a couple of plants blown over and a dustbin tipped on its side (luckily an empty bin). All have been retrieved and set right.
OH was going to do the weekly SM shop today, but weāve put it back to the morning when we will also collect our meat order from the butcher and call at the pharmacy for prescriptions- so whatever the weather is doing tomorrow, we must go out.
Pleased to hear your oven is fixed @Dovefromabove, just in time for Christmas šš¼.

Glad you have an oven @Dovefromabove.
Charlie very much 'on trend' @Ergates, apparently.
Hope @WonkyWomble gets her money back quickly, I know that awful sinking feeling...
Best wishes to all,
Catch you later, hope this message finally gets through, the joys of living in rural France.Ā

Think the washing's stopped so must get on.
