@Red maple 😊 I’ve not got a microwave … when we had one it got so little use I didn’t replace it when it died. Our kitchen doesn’t have a lot of worktop space and the slow cooker, big food mixer and processor are used almost every day so they earn their space and are out on the worktop 24/7. It doesn’t matter … I’ve still got two days and the rest of the Christmas prep is almost all done 😃

That’s a good deal, @Hostafan1! I don’t have an oven thermometer, but I suspect that the electric fan oven isn’t get as hot as it should. So annoying, as I’ve been making beautifully risen Yorkshires for years, it feels like I’ve lost a superpower! Even tempted to heat the trays in the oven, and some oil in a pan on the hob, and pour it in. At least I’ll be able to see how hot the oil is, but I don’t think that’s going to pass my personal health and safety standards! At least we eat my failures, but I want some pretty ones for the family to enjoy on Christmas Day.
Dove, firstly, Happy birthday Rob. I saw that sunrise! I was up at 5.20, decided to try Sainsbury's which was opening at 6, for clothes for my youngest granddaughter, who was one in September. Got some nice outfits, took them home, collected the dogs, off to the beach. Guess what I left my ****** phone with the camera in the car! Otherwise I could have posted you a picture, was also going to put it on FB.
Morning. It looks as though today will be Christmas parcel wrapping day. Feeling rather slack and would rather just sit and do nothing. 😒. Predictions for weather on Christmas Day look pretty grim here, but they still want to drive down from Canberra. Let’s hope there isn’t hail stones in the rain.
Hi, @Pat E. Those clouds do look menacing. No wonder you are feeling a bit down, your extremes of weather would sap the strength of most of us. Ive finished the food shopping, only forgot three things, which we can do without. Final tidy round for tomorrow’s visitors arrival, and check if I can squeeze some more drinks in the fridge. Need to keep reminding myself that there is no need to panic!
Same as you @Ergates - forgot a couple of things that we can do without - trying not to panic. They are arriving later this afternoon so I have time to wash hair and blow dry, clean and dust the living room. I have made the colcannon and the M. Berry's apricot and chestnut stuffing. I also made and froze red cabbage last week. Don't stress!
The wind has abated to 70 mph and the sun is shining.
Although my muscles are still in working order @Pat E sometimes a sneaky fart can lead to a surprise pee!!
Today's expression: A la Saint Evariste, jour de pluie, jour triste.
I'm going to friends for lunch today. Friend is the organiser of the rose group of the gardening club. She has a gorgeous old stone house with a beautiful garden that she started from scratch.
Then I'm going straight to Son 2's. Friend's house is nearer to Son than here. We are going to a Christmas Concert tonight in an old village church.
I'll pack the car this morning, lots of stuff to take, presents, food, wine, my Magimix and rolling pin and tartlet trays. Tomorrow I'm going to make sausage rolls, pizza tartlets and mince pies with the grand children.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

I hope no one has rain. None here - as usual.
