It's frosty outside in Dordogne. An hour ahead here. I've lit the woodburners. I'll have to go out to the barn and bring in another couple of barrows of logs.
The milk has defrosted so I've had coffee, but I must go to the SM as soon as the electric entrance gate has defrosted. It won't open when it's frozen.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Warm is not the word MrsB3, I’ve had the air con going most of the day. (Set on 22). However, now at 6.50pm, there is a misty look to our hills. Fingers crossed. The heat makes me feel breathless.
Another frosty morning here with 0°C. The sun is coming up. We have sunny bright weather for the next few days with a high of 13°/15°C.
Welcome back @Busy Lizzie - good idea to get someone to light the woodburners for you. I agree with you @Ergates - when family come to stay, it's the meals on the days before and after Christmas - easy to prepare so that we're not constantly in the kitchen either cooking or tidying up!
Warm as toast @Pat E Are you having BBQ and salads for Christmas Day? My mother used to stick to tradition and bake and roast on this hot summer's day!! Crazy!
@Nanny Beach Glad to hear that you are slowly on the mend. My lemon tree came away nicely with quite a few lemons. I'll post a photo soon. It is fleeced and cosy against these chilly nights.

Colin the Cooker man has been and gone … it’s the cooling fan … he’s ordering one and he’ll fit it as soon as he can get it. The main oven still works but obviously if used for long periods could overheat and shut down … I might risk it for a chicken on Christmas Day if he can’t get the fan in time … we’ll see. Cross your fingers for us folks. 🤞

Tui, my Mother did the same, and to top it off, we only had a fuel stove (wood, not electric). We kids used to disappear down to the beach and swim and wander back in time for a hot lunch. I didn’t appreciate her enough,I think.
Morning all, Not such a hard frost this morning as yesterday, another beautiful winters day. Must get the washing out! We have no telephone or internet in our hamlet, it's been like it for days, Orange say it's complicated but hope to resolve it by Wednesday evening! In the meantime we are using the Hotspot from the mobile phone. Glad you are home safe, sound and warm @Busy-Lizzie and the gate thaws out soon! There was a chap on Country File last night @Dovefromabove telling you how to tell the weather from the clouds! Lovely picture.....red sky in the morning etc!

Warm enough for you? We're in for a week of rain.
9C windy with drizzle here in Norfolk. Lovely … not 🙄
We’re awake early as we’re expecting the cooker repair man at 8am …
