Just reading back … hope you’re feeling better now @didyw 🤞 and I hope Mr @Busy-Lizzie continues to improve … it’s great to hear the new drive is ready for Rudolph’s sleigh @Lizzie27 … glad you and Charlie are having an enjoyable and stress free weekend win good company @D0rdogne_Damsel
Take it steady @punkdoc  … you’re just getting over a bad chest infection. Of course you’re going to get breathless and tire easily …  a doctor will tell you that 😉
A woman in the farm shop was just saying yesterday how our past behaviours catch up with us … from sporting injuries to more indulgent activities …  one of the girls in the shop has had several nasty rugby injuries already and she’s only 20 … she said she knows they’ll play her up as she gets older … but how many of us really would change our past behaviour, given the chance?  The conversation was triggered by Fairytale of New York being played on the radio … would Shane MacGowan have really lead a different life had he had a crystal ball? Â

It looks bitterly cold outside. I enjoyed the church friends party last night, fewer people than usual, but masses of delicious nibbles. Some people didn't come because of the horrid cold that is going round and others didn't want to go out in the cold. It was -2C at 8.30pm when I left, had to defrost the car. I was the first to leave.
I have finished my cards to French friends and family, need to buy stamps. I expect the price will be a shock. I didn't have everyone's addresses here, but I had their phone numbers so I had 3 nice chats with friends in France. Also with my brother in Scotland. He had told me that he was moving house after Christmas but it has been brought forward to next week.
I think I mentioned that I ordered an evening dress. It came yesterday and it's gorgeous. Wish I'd had it years ago. OH bought me a fake fur jacket to go with it which is lovely and warm. Dress could do with ironing, I'll have to be very careful.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good morning all. I've spent over an hour trying to speak to someone at (not very) easy jet. Hurghada airport don't allow anything other than a printed boarding pass. Nobody told me before leaving UK. By the time Virtual assistants eventually put you in a queue for a real person, and they eventually answer, you get about two lines of chat, then cut off the. Back to the beginning. ARRGG
Morning everybody, Bitterly cold here and still only -2.1c with thick fog. I can hardly see across the road so I'm not going out. May have to refill the bird feeders later though. Nice of your son to volunteer his taxi services @Dovefromabove. I expect he's only too pleased to be able to repay all your loving care all through this past year How lovely to have a new dress @Busy-Lizzie, what colour did you choose? Could you hang it up in the bathroom and let the steam get rid of the creases?
Gosh, your wind speed sounds horrendous @tui34, hope you will be okay.
Hope you get sorted eventually @Hostafan1. We're glad we don't fly anywhere any more.
How lovely, @Busy-Lizzie! I bought one rather similar but below knee length in a sale before Covid, but haven’t had a chance to wear it anywhere. You’ll look fabulous in that!
In the end I didn’t wake son … I’d put the screen blanket thingummy on my car last night and it was quicker to get that warmed up and ready to go than it would’ve been to get his car ready so we didn’t wake him. Of course I’ve been told off just now   😂Â
Isn’t it interesting that it’s always the idiots in the fog-coloured cars who think they don’t need lights of any description on days like this?Â

Who knows? The thing is at 20 or 30 you think you are eternal, don't you think Dove that our behaviour is often the result of growing up in a certain way. So bad choices might be the consequence of stuff happened in childhood. There are a couple of things in the past that I regret of course, would I change it if I could go back?? I don't know. Coming to live here (for example) has given us great financial stability but at a cost.

Just thought, maybe you are already at the airport. No printing facility there?
