We’ve got drizzle. 😁. Hubby is complaining because he put a load of washing in the machine. I Might have to hang it inside. 😒. Can’t help feeling glad though. We’ve been waiting for some rai for ages.
Glad to hear that you got your much needed rain @Pat E , even if it was only drizzle We would gladly have sent you some of ours had we been able. Hope your washing has now been dried. Thank you for your lovely post @Badly_Maintained, they are indeed a wonderful group of folk on here. It is comforting (not sure if this is the right word but hope you get my meaning) to be able to come and chat on here about our good times, our bad times, our problems or our worries without censorship. Long my it continue and my huge thanks to all or you.
Good morning all 😊 ☕️ Hope all have had a restful night and any aches, pains, cares and woes are easier this morning. 😊 It’s 5C and a grey and damp morning here in Norfolk … it looks as if it’ll rain shortly.
Not a lot that must be done today other than make some bread and get OH to work and back …
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
There is a howling gale here in West Dordogne, but it's much worse near the coast, new storm, Domingos.
I hope the weather will calm down by Friday when we fly back to England. I wish it would calm down before then as I have plants to plant. Definitely an indoor day today. OH is lighting the fires.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Morning Forkers. Did my bit on "are you awake". Yesterday morning, my surgery told me my GP was ringing me yesterday morning. She asked me to confirm the mobile number, and that this was the one they should use. I confirmed this, said I couldn't hear on the landline. Was surprised he was ringing me! He did on the landline of course! Now, bearing in mind I was told on the 1/9, there wasn't even a phone appointment available till November,he has given me an appointment for next week..... says he wants to "rule out things" So,am rather worried by this. Am hoping there isn't anything else wrong with me!! Hubby got the washing up to date yesterday, sunny and windy, just made it in, before the heavens opened mid afternoon.
I wouldn't worry about it @Nanny Beach - just be grateful that they are being thorough. My wardrobe sorting has resulted in a pile of jumpers and cardigans that have been through the machine on a hand-wash setting and, for one or two of them, a bit of a darn. Pesky moths! That includes a red jumper that I had forgotten I had. Luckily I hadn't pressed 'buy' on a very similar one I had been looking at. Rain and wind forecast for today. Fairly quiet at the moment though.
It’s understandable to be worried @Nanny Beach, but as @didyw says, they are being thorough.
A quiet day on the cards here, but I do need to wield the duster and vacuum today. It’s amazing where all the dust comes from.
Those clothes moths are a real pest, aren’t they, @didyw? I’ve recently bought another set of sachets to hang on the clothes rails and some to sit amongst the knitwear from that well known houseware store based in the Lakes. 🤞they seem to help.
We had lovely sunshine yesterday, but today we are back to grey and dismal, with rain forecast for later.
Lovely sunny morning, so we have ventured out for breakfast. Not sure about the walk, but if we do, wellies will definitely be involved! The flooded village was cleared this morning, just a few piles of mud at the roadside as evidence of Thursdays carnage. However, there is a lot of run off from the fields, and many puddles and streams along the main roads. The pool on our patio hasn’t gone down at all, it drains into a soak away which is probably already full from earlier in the week. Very thankful we had our gutters emptied a fortnight ago. No gardening planned for today. OH will be watching Formula 1 this afternoon. What I should do is try to have a clear out in the spare bedroom / junk depository, but just opening the door to that is so depressing. I was going to say, just stepping through the door, but that’s not easy to do with two rolls of loft insulation and a spare pack of floor tiles in the way! I’m tempted to hop on the bus into the city and have a little retail therapy instead.
