PS.  It was a beautiful day with no wind.  So worth the effort.

That looks like a mountain of vines @tui34. no wonder you ache.

That's a better result than your last Craft Fair I think, @didyw so good to get some things sold.

We had a very pleasant day out just meandering round the countryside in good weather. Took OH over to Chippenham where I use to go to college and donated some old documents at the local Record Office which they were pleased to receive. Had a walk around the old part of Chippenham which OH hadn't seen, a snack lunch in a cafe and a walk along the river path. Many old happy memories for me!

Unfortunately I've just tried to book a table at our favourite restaurant but they don't open on Tuesdays so I'm just taking OH to a local pub for dinner. Quite fancy their Steak & Ale Pie tonight!

    Have a good evening all.

Good evening everyone. Just read back and now can't remember anything, sorry.

I do remember - @tui34 so sorry to hear the news about your friend, must be so very upsetting for her and her family.

@coccinella glad to hear that you are feeling a lot better now.

@Busy-Lizzie safe trip home on Friday, have you left a car at the air port? Will you be going straight home or pausing for a stop over at relatives on the South coast (Eastbourne?)

@punkdoc sorry that it seems to be taking forever to recover from that nasty cold. Remember 'feed a cold and starve a fever' so, as has been said, the odd hot toddy and some nice treats might help.

@Pat E who won the cup and did the rain stay away?

Mind has now gone completely blank, so a virtual hug for any of you in need just now.

That is so awful for your friend @tui34
Feeling guilty reading of others getting outside jobs done, the garden here is just looking soggy and uninviting, although the acers are changing colour, must enjoy them before the leaves all fall off.
Managed to get a few jobs done inside, cut OH’s hair, helped him install a few splashback behind the hob, and washed up some paint brushes after he painted a couple of doors ( and cleaned up the paint drops he managed to walk across the floor) Then we popped to the supermarket for a few essentials and off to the donkey Sanctuary to sample their new winter lunch menu. Bubble and squeak with ham, fried eggs and a pot of piccalilli, delicious! Had a decent walk in the sun, although well wrapped up, then a trip to the posh farm shop for a present for daughter's birthday. Will just have a little snack this evening, as pretty full from lunch.
I must be really tired this evening, I’ve had to correct almost every other word in this post, and it took me several goes to remember how to spell few - that’s not good.
Did you exchange contracts, @rowlandscastle444? Been worrying you all weekend.

  • Still not exchanged yet, @Ergates
After more than five and a half years of planning, it's come down to less than 24 hours, until it could all disappear. This time tomorrow will be too late.
So, we wait until the new working day starts tomorrow.

Oh dear, hoping so much it will all work out, @rowlandscastle444
  • Me too.
But, as my wife says, if God wants it to happen, it'll happen. If not, then God wants us to stay put.
Meanwhile, we've practically emptied the loft. Old bits of carpet, rolls of wallpaper, and lots more.

Thank you @AnnaB. We will be flying so no stops in Eastbourne to see OH's daughter and family this time. When we get to Stansted we take a train and a friend will meet us. Your memory seems pretty good to remember that we sometimes stay in Eastbourne. We do that when we drive and go by ferry.

I hope you enjoyed the steak and ale pie @Lizzie27 and that your OH enjoyed his birthday.

    Fingers crossed @rowlandscastle444.

  • Today turned out to be quite busy what with one thing and another …
    I think I’ll sleep well tonight … choir tomorrow … night night all … sleep tight 😴 … 🤞 for Mr & Mrs @rowlandscastle444

  • Thank you @Dovefromabove
Mrs R has just come in from meeting a friend for a curry. Not my thing, so I'm happy to stay at home on these occasions.
