  • Well … a change of plans … it seems that someone had muddled the rota and OH isn’t working today … thankfully his colleague phoned before we set off … so I left himĀ here in charge of the washing and I went to Wrose for milk, coffee and their essential mayo … son finds that very acceptable and gets through a lot of it … I blame the parents who took him to Belgium and introduced him to frites et mayo at an impressionable age 🤣 Son took a look at the weather forecast and went back to bed. 😓

    Hi all

You know that feeling when you think...... what is going to go wrong next?

We are now up to our ears in mud and water. Thankfully not in the house but the garden is completely waterlogged/flooded and treacherously slippery. It rained all night on top of having rained most of the week. My niece is staying with us at the moment so we're going out for lunch and will probably spend the afternoon chatting or watching a movie and resolutely not looking out the windows. Although my dwarf cherry is putting on a grand show of colour, so I may spare it a few glances.

Sorry for everyone's troubles. Hope @Hostafan1 is feeling better, that @punkdoc's cold eases and a new appointment is reasonably swiftly arranged, @Nanny Beach's doc is just being careful and all those with money woes and problematic exes/family/neighbours get a little peace and some sleep. @BenCotto - don't know what to say. I just hope you'll both be OK

Perversely, I find the Scottish saying 'Things are never so bad that they can't get worse' is helpful when I'm in that frame of mind.Ā

Afternoon folks, thank you for your good wishes. The thing about my GP being thorough,is, for 18 months of being ill, I couldn't get an appointment, then it was 111, paramedic ambulances, and ED visits, now I am under the care of several different consultants, and he wants to "eliminate things", seems a**e to pot!

What a pain, @punkdoc, hope it’s something quick and easy to fix. Our car failed its MOT a few years ago, the headlight washers weren’t working. A big surprise to us as it doesn’t have headlight washers. No one at the garage thought to check that just because it had the little doors for washers, that there wasn’t actually anything behind them.
@Dovefromabove, I’m also a fan of the Waitrose Essential Mayo, although I do prefer the half fat version. Shame they stopped doing the smaller jar in our local store.

i certainly wouldn’t worry, @Nanny Beach, sounds like your GP is being sensible and thorough. Too many things are just dismissed as Long Covid or menopause or the like, without any actual confirmation, so good that you will be checked out. And maybe they can offer something to relieve your symptoms and hasten your recovery.Ā

Poor @BenCotto and wife, what can I say? I hope the next rounds of treatment will provide some benefits, and help keep your spirits up while you try and make the best of things.
Raining again here. Decided to stay home for the afternoon. I could do some of the boring housework, but I’m going to try and ignore it. I have some embroidery on the go, that I mean to get round to and it gets left until I run out of energy. Will make an effort.
Much love to all who need it.Ā

    Hello Forkers

Sorry to hear about several problems from some of you. Good luck @Nanny Beach with your medical appointment, maybe because, as you say, there are different consultants involved, he wants to hear directly from you, that's all.

I have found another endocrinologist, going to see him next week. Meanwhile the Covid symptoms are weakening fast and if it didn't rain I would be doing some gardening. I enjoyed Beechgrove winter edition very much.Ā
    Have a nice Saturday.

Hopefully your garden will recover fully @raisingirl

Your luck is bound to change soon, better days will return for you @punkdoc
