Book Club meeting for me this morning, Loving Frank by Nancy Horan, whoa, what a discussion, thought there was going to be fisticuffs at one point. All very entertaining, and actually interesting to hear everyone's point of view.
Charlie and his pals are here with me this evening, I can't tell you how much I love listening to the banter and ribbing between them, all good fun. We had a semi-serious discussion over dinner, they are all so smart and worldly wise, very eco friendly, politically aware and inclusive and caring about their fellow man (perhaps I should say fellow human) a real pleasure to be around.
I have left them playing computer games and I now have the enviable task of dealing with the weeks dirty washing of not one but three teenagers, who have this also participated in a 5km cross country race this week in basically, a muddy field.....joy! Thank goodness for the new washing machine.

May I suggest you start as you mean to go on @D0rdogne_Damsel, the 3 boys are quite capable of doing their own washing - just point them in the direction of the washing machine!
Brilliant sunshine this morning and apparently we are in for a very warm weekend with a cool start to next week on Monday!! I still haven't put the central heating on yet but the afternoon sun in the conservatory is full on!!
I hope you had a reasonable night's sleep @Dovefromabove I seem to have laryngitis at the moment so sleep is deep but unsettled for me. A hot toddy with a dash of whisky does do the trick, though!! Enjoy your rugby weekend @Ergates !! Hope it's muddy!!
Christmas puds sorted yesterday, so today will be the boiling point!! I don't think I will make a cake this year but some mince pies will be on the cards.
Today's expression is: Journée de Saint Aude, ordinairement n'est pas chaude.
Good morning all 😊 ☕️ Slept well 🙏. It’s damp and grey out there … Hosta isn’t missing much 😂 @tui34 hope your throat recovers very soon .., the owner of the Early Music centre where I used to work was an Aude. She was Swiss.
We need to make a trip to an art supplies shop near the football ground, so better check whether the Canaries are playing at home today … ETA … of course, no match today 👍

Last night we went to a musical play, The Baker's Wife, in a local village hall. It was very well done and we enjoyed it. When we came home OH went to bed but I wasn't sleepy so I watched the last episode of the new series of "Time" about 3 women in prison. It was very moving ang brilliantly acted.
Today we are going to a Christmas Craft Fair in another local village hall.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Still raining on and off, blah. Been a busy week, don't know where the time has gone. Been to the shops, all full of Christmas tat but I bought a nice piece of meat which I am going to braise for tomorrow's lunch. OH busy with his rehearsals for next Friday charity concert. If you happen to be around Luxembourg it's a fun event. I'd better put the food shopping away. Have all a nice weekend.
Afternoon all. Have read back as I missed yesterday. Like @Dovefromabove we too said many goodbyes, this time to my FIL. We all rushed to his bedside at the local hospital when he developed pneumonia. My SIL, an end of life nurse, said that this is regarded as the old men's friend as it so often carries them peacefully away. But he recovered and spent the next two years, largely bedridden, in a local (very good) care home. My thought's and sympathies are with you @Badly_Maintained. Lovely calligraphy - what a thoughtful gift.
Whilst I really enjoy working on all the projects I am currently working with others on, it is beginning to affect my sleep as my brain is so active! I attended a 9.15am meeting yesterday that morphed into another, but related, meeting with fewer people so that lasted 3 hours. I hadn't had much sleep the night before so thought I would easily fall asleep last night. But no - it took a while and then, much to my chagrin, I woke up again at 4.30am. I did think of coming downstairs to check the Are You Awake thread but decided to simply read, read read, until I felt tired again. Consequently I didn't wake up as early as I would have hoped this morning.
Out to eat tonight - a birthday meal for me daughter. But a local restaurant which we think is good but she hasn't been to yet. She and the rest of her family love a Japanese restaurant in a nearby town. Whilst I love Japanese food, this one uses fish sauce in everything so there is little I can eat on the menu (I hate the stuff). But I think she'll like this local Italian restaurant.

It looks as though it rained a lot in the night.

Nothing planned for today other than some household chores.
Enjoy the Christmas Craft Fair @Busy-Lizzie.
