    Morning all.

    Glad @punkdoc is still alive.

We are going to the village pub for Sunday lunch with our best friends here. The new owners only recently started doing Sunday lunches. Friend will bring my raffle prize.

My mum was always winning raffle prizes; I never do.  Enjoy your lunch and prize @Busy-Lizzie.

Fingers firmly crossed for @punkdoc for an op. before Christmas.  But the clock is ticking...

Hope your missus doesn't suffer too much @steephill - and that your meds. trial goes well.

I was also deemed pre-diabetic and told to cut down on the amount of fruit I eat in favour of more vegetables.   But spinach and carrot in with my morning muesli?  I think not.

Out for a lovely meal in a local restaurant with the family yesterday to celebrate my daughter's 55th birthday.  Her actual birthday is on Wednesday but that is a work day so we went early.

Then back home to watch Strictly on iPlayer.  A perfect Saturday evening!

Afternoon all, wet and windy again but did manage our usual walk before it really poured. De-cluttered the hall coat cupboard and chucked out old boots and shoes. I also found a box of old shoe polishes/brushes/waxes etc which we never use so chucked a lot of those out as well. Think shoe polishing is probably a dying art.

Glad you enjoyed the birthday celebration @didyw and hope you're not getting too wet watching rugby @Ergates

The trees round here quite suddenly seem to be vibrant in reds and golds but also losing them at the same time. The big maple near the back garden has dropped loads all over our path to the shed but it's too wet to be able to clear them today.

Back from rugby training ( not me, obviously!) Managed to fit in a walk round the city centre with son, catching up on his news. Everything being prepped up for the Christmas market next to the Abbey, but peacefully quiet this morning. Glad I’d brought my gloves and woolly hat, so quite comfortable standing by the Rec watching grandson running around. Have realised the benefit of brightly coloured rugby boots, so much easier to identify your grandson among a crowd of similarly sized children!

I remember that sort of day @Ergates, watching my son playing rugby. He was so keen. Now he's a Dad with 3 daughters and a managing director of a big company. He just watches it on TV.

I'm still full after roast beef and Yorkshire pudding and 6 different sorts of veg followed by raspberry cheesecake. My raffle prize was 3 little bottles of whisky from a local distillery. Good thing I like whisky! Don't often drink it though.

Hooray   We’ve got rain, thunder, hail and lightning.  Amazing. I’m keen to have a drive out the back tomorrow to see how the dam levels have changed.  Pixel is a bit nervous about the light flashes and noise, but is happy to check out the window regularly. 😁. We’ve turned the computer off just in case there is a lightning strike too close.

    Good morning all.
Pretty poor WiFi here. I hope you're all well.

  • Good morning all 😊 ☕️
8C and a dry still morning.
Glad you’ve got some rain @Pat E   Our neighbours are off to Perth in a few days’ time to meet their baby granddaughter for the first time. They won’t be back until    mid January.

    Good morning

We had a little sunshine yesterday, managed to empty the water butt and give a good tidying up, that's enough now for winter. I fear for the bulbs I planted in pots last month, even with the good drainage I provided they might have rotten with all the rain.
This evening I am going to a talk given by baroness Hale, what  broach shall I wear 😄?
