Good morning Debs. You have brought back a memory there. I remember end of school year trips to Trentham Gardens. Its many years since I've been there but always remember how beautiful they were. Hope that the weather is kind to you and you have a lovely day

Morning all. Didn't sleep too well last night, felt like I spent the night dozing. OH has gone off to help son decorate his bedroom( it's a large room) but he was rather tired looking on his way out. He won't give upπŸ™„ Think it Β could take two or three days. I have lined up some jobs for myself Β to do indoors, as it is still raining. Rained all day yesterday.
Well done LB on last night, I think runners up is a very respectable position to achieve.
Debs, enjoy your time Trentham Gardens( never been) with daughter but it looks great from the pictures on line. Β I always enjoy a bit of retail therapy too .Β

Have had Lily's TV on this morning and I've managed to put some material out on the string outside! Who would have thought it? Two days ago we were deep in snow and it was bitterly cold. Today, the sun is out and there is a gentle breeze. Stuff won't dry but it will get some fresh air blown through them which will be nice.
Ive also managed to get round to making the square box with a door on it, (in the kitchen, ) free from dirt and stainsπŸ€πŸ˜‚ Gawd, what a job!.....( have you worked it out?)
  • Been into the village, and found these post toppers!
    What fun.  😊

Fantastic @rowlandscastle444, very cheery and colourful. We'll have to get Rubee to crotchet Β a Letterbox topping too before longπŸ™‚

    Afternoon all.

@rowlandscastle444, lovely and very festive photos. Thanks for sharing.

LB, I made my own mincemeat following a recipe from Mary Berry which you posted. Thank you for that. I only made few changes in fruit selection. I added dry apricot, almonds flakes and candied ginger.Β

Whole day is miserable, grey, with rain till dusk. Now is snowing. Nothing special to report except I sent Christmas cards to my sister in Germany and friends in Austria. Rest of cards will send next week, and also a parcel to my sister with GLS. It needs only three days to arrive. Now I'll just rest a bit.Β Β

    Good evening all,
Just got home from a lovely afternoon tea with former colleagues but also now good friends. It was so nice to have a good catch up - we all have busy lives with lots going on, so it was good to be able to co-ordinate a time we could all make.
Thank you for your good wishes for OH. He’s doing very well, I’m pleased to report. The dressing will be changed next week and the stitches removed the following one, in good time for Christmas πŸŽ….

@rowlandscastle444 thank you for sharing those joyous pictures with us. They just bring a smile to your face and make you feel happy.
Hazel, I would guess microwave but it could be air fryer or oven.
Ante, your mince meat mix sounds delicious. Its been more or less grey and horrid all day here too. I got two more Christmas cakes made this morning and finished icing the first one I made a few weeks ago.
I received a text reminder about my next dental check up today so that is now fixed up. I got my postage forms printed off for my Canadian cards and some of my Australian ones and got them stuck to the cards. Now all I have to do is post them. Could be a job for tomorrow!
