  • Evening everyone.
Glad you're safely home @Ante1 I can just imagine the welcome home you got from Max πŸ˜†Β  Hope you've enjoyed a mince pie or two with a cup of tea today. I bet you sleep well tonight back in your own bed.Β
I dozed off on the sofa this afternoon for a couple of hours. Still feeling tired though.Β
How is your OH feeling todayΒ  @Busy-Lizzie hope he's starting to feel better.Β
Have a lovely evening everyone. Its just started to rain, I've got to put the bin out soon for tomorrow πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

The bed didn't make it to the tip :D To be fair, I could easily have taken it weeks ago and dumped it all in the non-recyclable skip. I'm probably wasting my time but prefer to strip it down to its constituent parts in the hope at least some of it doesn't end up in landfill. So, I've taken all the screws and metal fittings off. Detached three metal bars and levered dozens of plastic fittings off them. Removed all the staples holding the material on and then ripped off the foam underneath. I've ended up with a pile of wood, pile of metal, small pile of plastic and a pile of material. I'll do the last bit during the week and get rid of what is left next weekend.

Also had a stint outside. Re-attached the guttering on the shed and sorted the connection with the water butt. Took several buckets of water out to make way for the next downpour. Not happy just tipping stored water down the drain but I've got nowhere else to store it. Made a start on re-building the framework for the loganberries. The recent storms have snapped some of the canes and it was all looking a bit of a mess.

You certainly have been working hard @Biglad .
I try to dismantle things too. There is always some satisfaction in knowing that you've done a task well.

Good morning early bird @rowlandscastle444 all. Newest laptop still refusing to obey so that is priority on the jobs list this morning. I had a rubbish night last night and spent most of it reading. I think it will be a quiet day.

  • Morning @Ladybird4 and all to follow.Β
Sorry you had a bad night's sleep LB, I slept a bit better than usual but have been awake for awhile. And have woken up with a headache. Need to take some paracetamol soon. Think I might have a lazy day too. But will have a gentle stroll to the village shops and get some milk this morning. Maybe the fresh air will do me good.Β
Hope Mr @Busy-Lizzie is feeling better today.Β
Take care everyone and have a restful day.
  • Good morning @Ladybird4 and @star gaze lilyΒ

    Morning all.

Thank you for asking about OH @star gaze lily. He is very chesty and we think the cold could be turning into bronchitis. He may need antibiotics but the surgery phone lines are busy. I'm thinking of taking him to the surgery when they open at 9am. Our surgery is a shambles at the moment and some of the staff have resigned.

  • Sorry to hear your OH is so poorly @Busy-Lizzie Do hope you can get to see a Dr today. Sounds like our surgery, on the phone in a queue for ages and can't get an appointment.Β  Three of our Drs have left in the last few months as well as other staff leaving too.Β
Take care, hope he feels better soon x

    Good morning SGL and Busy.Β
SGL there is a lot to be said about a little stroll in the fresh air. Its definitely one of the things I like to do. Having a look at what 'nature' is up to as well.
Busy, sorry to read that you OH is still suffering. Good idea to take him to the Doc's - if you can get an appointment. My surgery sounds like yours - total chaos. I cannot even get in touch with them on the phone and as for that AskmyGP app - I have never been able to get that to work.
Laptop sorted, I would love to be out in the garden, unfortunately the rain is putting a stop to that. Ho hum, more Christmas card writing!
