Thank you @Ladybird4 it's definitely losing my OH that is causing the sleepless nights. If I'm honest I'm notΒ  coping well at the moment. What with Christmas coming, his birthday next week and trying to put on a brave face in front of my sons. I don't want them to worry about me more than they already are. They are grieving too. But they know me well and probably know exactly what I'm doing.Β
I did sleep for awhile this afternoon.
Thank you too @Busy-Lizzie The poppets will certainly help me get through it all. And I'll definitely be making it lovely for them.Β
Sorry that your OH is too poorly to go out to see the fireworks. Hope he feels better tomorrow after a good nights sleep.Β
    Have a lovely evening everyone.

Lily sleeping tablets don’t suit me . The doctor gave me some sleeping pills several years ago. I was a wake all night but i slept most of the morning . Not very convenient.

SGL, of course it will be a most difficult time this Christmas. I think you are right in saying your sons will know exactly what you are doing and they and the Poppets will help you through this.

Evening all. It's been a bright but very chilly day here and the trees and shrubs are shedding their leaves all over the place! For the fourth day running I've made myself do a minimum of 1 hour outside (it's usually 2) and, if I can keep going like this, things should be cut back and tidy so there's not quite so much to do come Jan / Feb.

Ante - glad you've enjoyed your trip to London - you certainly packed a lot in. What was your favourite thing? Still loads to go at on a return trip. Hope you enjoy the mince pies. I'm sure a few of us have recipes if you want to try making them. I like adding orange zest to the pastry and walnuts, cranberries and brandy to shop bought mincemeat.

SGL - a difficult time for you just now. MIL is also struggling at the moment. She doesn't like winter, it would have been FIL's b'day in 10 days time, Xmas is everywhere and she has some minor problems with the house plumbing. Altogether it's all a bit too much and I'm sure it's the same for you. BL's idea to focus on making things happy for the poppets is a very good one. Always better when you're concentrating more on them.

BL - hope OH feels better soon. We've had a few fireworks here tonight. Think they are also postponed parties.

We didn't go to the fireworks. OH went to bed an hour ago. I'm watching a programme called Delivering Babies with Emma Willis. I was going to do midwifery after my nurse training but I met First OH and had babies instead.

A very good morning one and all. It is very cold here, 1Β°C, so I'll be checking on my plants in pots today. Handy brother is going on a Turkey and Tinsel week with his mates to Criccieth tomorrow so I hope that, at least, they have dry weather.
Sorry to read you missed the fireworks Busy - at least you would have kept nice and warm indoors. I do hope your OH is feeling better today.
I guess Ante has arrived home safely to a big, warm welcome from Max.
T'Bird, I moved a huge pile of oak leaves last Thursday that had built up courtesy of the wind next to my neighbour's back gate. They filled two large flexi tubs to the top and being Nature's bounty I got them all deposited into one of my compost bins.

    Morning all (from the CA),

It doesn't look like we've had David Jason overnight, unlike yesterday. I have to confess that the apple trees remain unplanted and there are still bits of bed in the house :oΒ Β

OH is working all day (double shift) today. I wonder if she notices anything different when she gets home tonight.......

Actually, tell a lie, now it's light, we've got a few smidges of white. Wishful thinking from somebody wanting to dig holes in soft, warm soil!!!

@Busy-Lizzie sorry you didn't get to see the fireworks last night. It was quite cold out, so at least you were both nice and warm at home. Do hope OHΒ  is feeling better this morning.Β
I didn't feel cold at all during the night, I was quite snug under the duvet. Think I fell asleep just after 2, but have been awake since 6.....perhaps an hour extra sleep πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
Need a cup of tea or two.Β
Have a good day everyone. I might write some Christmas cards today. Think they need to be posted early, post here is still rubbish. Can't believe it's a year ago we had the postal strikes and we were wondering if they would ever arrive. Where has this year gone. πŸ˜’
