Hazel, you will definitely need to protect your little rose to give it a chance of survival. If you have a cool windowsill in your house I would be tempted to keep it there through the worst of the winter weather. Your idea of putting fleece around the plant pot if you leave it in the greenhouse is excellent. Putting the cloche on over night is also perfect.

Morning @Ladybird4 and all to follow. Slept a bit better last night.Β @Songbird-2 so pleased to hear your rose cutting is surviving. I would put it in the greenhouse or indoors somewhere to protect it from the frosts too. They keep forecasting snow for this winter too (hopefully they are wrong) but just incase it will need protection from such cold weather.Β How is your arm/shoulder now @Ladybird4 hope it is now much better.Β The leaves on the trees look absolutely stunning this morning, such beautiful reds and oranges. They are slowly coming down, but they seem to be staying on the trees later this year. Have a lovely day everyone. Always take care. Β
Hazel, LB told you everything about little rose cutting. Hope she will survive.Β
SGL, leaves are mostly still green here. Last year I had problem with hanging Christmas lights because leaves were still on the trees in my garden.
It's very unpleasant morning, cold dark and wet. Pets are all inside and they don't have any attention to go out. Hope some of you have little bit better weather.Β Β Β
A very good morning SGL and Ante. Pleased to hear you had a better sleep last night SGL and thank you for asking about my shoulder. It is just about healed now and I find myself taking care when lifting things e.g. yesterday lifting my shopping bags out of the boot, I deliberately took time instead of my usual just 'grab and go' movement.
Ante, it is not a bad morning here - in fact I am thinking about putting Lily's TV on.

Good morning all. Very poor Wi-Fi here so not able to do much on my phone. Having a lovely time. Chatsworth was stunning very festive. We went into Bakewell yesterday to eat Bakewell tart. Weather changeable but the views are gorgeous.Β
I'm pleased that your shoulder is almost better, LB.
Glad you are enjoying your holiday @Debs. Is Bakewell tart better in Bakewell? I really like it.
We arrived back in Norfolk at 4pm and our friends were waiting at the station to drive us to our cottage. The cottage was cold, only 10C inside. We put the heating on and lit the woodburner then went to the SM for supplies for the next 3 days, but we forgot the butter. I got some out of the freezer when I woke up.
I felt it was too chilly for comfort so I told OH I would take him to a local pub for dinner. I rang them first because Friday night can be busy and told them the house was cold so they set a table for us next to a radiator. We enoyed our meal. I had salmon with a mushroom sauce and OH had mussels in a creamy sauce then sticky toffee pudding for us both.
When we got back the sitting room had gone up to 16C but the fire had gone out. It's only a small woodburner. We watched the last episode of the Ex-wife wrapped in blankets. There is a frost this morning.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good morning Busy. Thank you for your kind words. Yes, it must have been a big shock to both your systems getting back to that temperature. I'm sure you will get it more cosy today. It was so kind of your local hostelry to seat you near a radiator and your delicious meals will have warmed up your insides anyway.

Good Β morning everyone. I will be watching the marching and service this morning . Hazel i think all the TLC the rose is getting will have a positive effect on itβs growth. Lily pleased to read that you slept better last night. Makes such a difference to your day . Ante wrap up and keep warm. Debs great that you are enjoying your holiday .I have been to Chatsworth a few times .The festive trimmings and atmosphere will have made your visit really lovely .Bakewell tarts yummy . Busy ,pleased you are home safely .I hope your cottage will have warmed up now . LB itβs good to read that your shoulder is much better .
Itβs a lovely bright morning but chilly here today - weβve had a light frost overnight, and the gritters were out and about. Gardening jobs to do today, finishing off the fleecing and generally making sure that everything that needs protection has it.
Yes, 11 am today, very important. We will be going to the remembrance service tomorrow at our local church.
I agree, your little rose should be ok if you put it in your greenhouse and protect it with fleece, Hazel.
Chatsworth is lovely isnβt it @debs64. What theme have they chosen for their display in the house this year?
