    Morning all from the CA,

I'm surprised I haven't become welded to my favourite piece of furniture, as it is, for the most part, my office and my bed :o Starting week 9 of the short 4-6 week stint I was asked to cover!

Seems to be a bit Marti out this morning. Haven't looked but I can definitely hear it. Not likely to be wanting to sneak out for an hour to get my new goodies planted today. Do you know what variety your cyclamen are, @Ladybird4? Their resilience sounds promising :)ย ย

Busy, meant to say earlier that I do remember us exchanging our 'Kent' stories some time back. I was just wondering if @rowlandscastle444 knew of our former villages.

Thank you LB, it's still early.๐Ÿ˜ I just meant to say that we have calm, bright and cold morning. If stays like this I'll go to the cottage after school.ย

Morning @Biglad. I have a mix of Cyclamen coum and Cyclamen hederifolium. The latter have the most beautifully marked leaves. I will try and get some pictures later for you. Its raining here

Aaah Ante - I know the feeling! I don't think my brain is in gear yet. There is no quiz in Bolton tonight so its perhaps just as well. This VERY early rise is not good for me.
p.s. I think that the man's action on YouTube said it all!

I very much know Tenterden. My wife has a cousin who lives there, and we often visit, @Ladybird4
I live in North Kent, but Tenterden is in a lovely part of the county, close to Headcorn, where the airfield is.ย
Smarden I don't know, but we may have driven through it at some stage. But Tenterden is a destination, and we've often eaten out in one or another of the restaurants there.ย

Good morning @rowlandscastle444 I was still at school then and used to attend Rye Grammar School but I did have a Summer holiday job in one of the tea shops on the main street. The name of the establishment is lost in the mists of time but I remember Tenterden being a lovely place.

Thanks @Ladybird4. The only named variety they had was coum, so I went for some of those rather than take a chance on a potentially less hardy type (even though they looked better plants). From my brief research, hederifolium seems to be the most bulletproof.

  • Morning everyone,ย
Absolutely lashing down here. And a bit breezy too.ย
Sorry to hear you had such a rotten nights sleep @Ladybird4 hope you can have a relaxing day. It took me awhile to get to sleep, but did sleep for a few hours. Woke at 6.30.
@Rubee give Rosie my best wishes, hope the pain eases soon. Maybe a trip to A&E today, just incase.ย
@Ante1 Oh yuk! I'd give them a miss if I was you. ๐Ÿ˜ซ I've never tried them, but just the thought makes me feel ill ๐Ÿคขย
I'm going to a panto in December too with my two eldest Poppets.ย
Hope this rain eases, take care everyone.

  • @Ladybird4 I love Rye. We often go there. Used to take our boys to Camber Sands. Lovely memories.
