Having listened to the weather forecast and having a chat with Handy Brother, I am changing my mind about going to town today. I do not fancy battling 80mph winds. I only wanted to put my refund cheque into the Bank but it can wait. Apparently Wednesday may be more settled. I'll have to keep an eye on my bins in case they get blown about. Stay safe everybody.

SGL, I don't remember a great deal about Rye - just that it was a pretty place.

    Morning all.

@rowlandscastle444 Headcorn is very near Smarden. First OH used to take the train there to go to work and I did my local shopping there. Daughter 1 had piano lessons in Tenterden.

A friend lived in Rye. I stayed with her for a few days after 1st OH died and I was living in France. When Mum went to a care home in Battle I used to go to see her from France and take her out in her wheelchair to Rye and to the sea. She loved the sea and she liked Rye, a pretty town.

No frost this morning, it's been raining. No plans for today, apart from some phone calls.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Good good morning Ante and LB. Eel pie and mash.πŸ«’πŸ€’πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«. Nothing more to say on that subject.
Too wet to go out here Β today .LB I hope you will have time to put your feet up during the day that certainly was a very disturbed night .Lily thank you I will send your best wishes to Rosie .
  • @Busy-Lizzie Β Β  to get to Tenterden, we go down the A274, which bypasses Smarden, which would explain why I don't recall it.Β
My eyes would be on the road and map, since my wife is the driver.Β
She needs directing. We don't have satnav.

Morning Β all. It was like reading Chapter and Verse Β this morning with so many posts, and all made at a very early time in the morningπŸ˜‚ I could have joined in at one time as the rain hitting the windows in the early hours, woke me up, but I did manage to get back to sleep.....to dream some most peculiar dreams.
@star gaze lily, SGL, another one going to the Panto! What a jolly lot we will be afterwards!( see what you've started @Red maple?πŸ˜‰πŸ€).Β
@Ladybird4,LB, what a coincidence Β you seeing Jack and the Beanstalk when younger. Funnily enough, the thought did pass my mind the other day whether this might be a bit scary for 23 but considering what and how he plays I think he'll be ok.Β
Oh dear @biglad, onwards and upwards and fingers crossed it will soon be over.

    Good afternoon everyone,

It’s very breezy here this afternoon - getting stronger, but the rain has stopped and it’s definitely not as cold. (It was showing 13 degrees C in the car on my way back from my coffee morning group).

I didn’t hear it in the night but my OH said it was very windy and wet at about 2am. I’ll take his word for that 😁.

I’m glad we managed to get all our gardening chores done on Saturday, I think it would have been a struggle trying to tie fleece round pots in this breeze.

The Panto list grows πŸ˜‚. Looking forward to going, it’ll be upon us before we know it.

The wind is certainly whipping up here @Red maple - 2 patio chairs have relocated over a small wall, through some large pots and settled on the lawn :oΒ  Not raining at the minute but the leaves are rattling into the windows instead.

    Raining and blustery here too.
  • Sunny here, but rather breezy. Its not cold though.Β
Been to the shops and got a few 'stocking fillers'  chocolate Santa's, chocolate coins etc. Some cosy socks for them all....not Christmas without new socks 🀣 some bath bits and bobs for my DILs sticker books for the poppets. At last I have a few bits.
