To be fair, it has been slow going @Ladybird4. I got a lemon, lime and orange during lockdown. I've kept them indoors all year round and they're all still alive. That lemon has been about 20 months in the making! However, the other 2 fruits are relatively recent additions and seem to be growing more quickly. I've read that they can take 4-6 years before they get going with fruit so anything at this stage is a bonus ย
Here's my booty from the boot - 8 little plants currently sheltering from Debi, Enoch or whatever the next 'weather occurrence' is named.
They look really good Biglad. ( lemons).ย I seem to have been busy today but I don't seem to have achieved much. I have ordered a new large footstool as my present one is too low and is pulling my legs, and thus my lower back ,downwards and it gets quite uncomfortable for me. I've been on-line a lot finding just the right one. Ended up getting one from our favourite store Du**l*๐ Being delivered tomorrow. Son came down early morning and him and OH went off for a browse round a local Auto shop. Both came back with stuff. ย OH is now painting eldest grand daughter a painting she has asked for.ย I had the hot flat metal thing out this morning and also have pottered in and out sorting out the bird feeders and glueing a (plant pot ) tray to the bottom of a seed feeder. The little seeds that drop off seem to grow pretty quickly when they fall to the ground under them. I accidentally spilt some on the garden table, ages ago, which then, fell down into a pot of tulips....they've started growing too.๐ LB, your cyclamen look in good condition and glad they've survived being shunted around. Biglad, that looks a good haul too.ย
I've got a few leaf drifts that will need clearing at the weekend. I don't mind leaving some to rot into the borders but large, soggy piles that have accumulated in every corner will just house a kazillion Cyrils ready to launch a spring attack on all my goodies. The garden waste bin could be pretty full for the next collection!
@Biglad, that is a lovely collection and the Pieris is a beauty. My leaves go in the compost bin. I did make another attempt earlier to do some tidying up in the garden. I'd only been out about 5 minutes and the rain arrived again. I am beginning to think I'm a bit like the Pink Panther!
Hazel, I'm pleased you got sorted with another foot stool. I buy 'no grow' bird food and the wood pigeons and collared doves are good at hoovering up any seeds that get thrown out by the little birds.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
The leaf mould and compost bins are both pretty full at the moment, but I'll squeeze a few more in as well. There's loads though. Don't know where they've all blown in from - they're not mine! ย ย
Back from the London hospital, because they carried out the necessary tests all within the day. Totally unexpected!! Fortunately, hospital transport were on the ball today. They had to be, as they phoned me this morning to apologise for last week's mess up. I was impressed with the level of service this evening. They were actually ready before I was. I now have to wait for the hospital to decide on the next step.ย
@rowlandscastle444 that is such good news for you what with the stress of the big move etc. I hope that you get the decision and suggestions very quickly.
Last night I thought that Debi had decided she had forgotten something and had returned for a second visit. It was horrible - not much better this morning. Garden might have to wait again.
