Good afternoon all. Sorry Ante - missed you this morning as you weren't there when I posted. It does look like a lot of us haven't got back into a regular sleeping habit yet.
Biglad, my answer to your question at 08:44 this morning is 'crass stupidity.'
Hazel the fog cleared by about 10:00. I made a trip to 'sco long before then, so was driving through the fog for a while. I am so glad I went when I did as when I came out to drive home it was heaving with people - as were all the roads. I couldn't believe how busy it was. It felt like a Saturday.
I decided to fetch one of my litter trays out of the shed. These were what I had when I first acquired Lily and her brother. As she is a little old lady now I thought it might be better for her than getting through her cat flap to go to the toilet. Especially nice for her when it is tipping down outside. I was so preoccupied with choosing cat litter that when I got to the check out I suddenly realised that I had forgotten all about her food. That would have gone down like a lead balloon. The lady on the check out was lovely and wanted to send someone to get it for me but I said I would just go around again once I had off loaded my first lot of shopping into the car boot. I was able to use the self check out once I got the appropriate items. Finally - and now fog free - I set off for home. There were big yellow road signs up warning of the closures over the weekend.
Ruby, you are well organised with your Charity collections. I think I might be taking a trip to the Sue Ryder shop next week when I go to Bestie's.

LB,you had an eventful morning, glad you got poor Lily's food, you wouldn't have been her favourite parent otherwise πŸ€πŸ˜‚
I got quite a few indoor jobs done over the course of the day and got my hair cut too. Feels a lot better now. One more hair appointment before Christmas now😬
Managed to cut back some little alpine type plants in our large wood planter and OH has put the rectangular, large cloche over it,ready for inter. Temperature Β tonight is going down to 1 degrees, so chilly night ahead. I'm pleased to say the rose cutting is still alive!

Hazel, that is super news about your rose cutting. I know you will keep it safe from the frosts. We have got frosts forecast for the next two nights then back to rain on Sunday.

Don't you just hate it when the dark sneaks up when you are not looking. Pitch black outside now.

    Good evening all.

Hazel, next year you will have lovely, new rose. Protect her over the winter.

LB, I'm glad that Lily will not starve. πŸ˜‚Β

Here is also pitch dark and with rain. Next two day will be again windy and wet. Perfect for weekend with book and fire in the furnace. I'm little bit tired, so now dinner tea and tv.Β Β

LB, Ante, the rose cutting is in the greenhouse. Would you bring it indoors over winter or will it be ok there? I do hope she'll grow as the actual rose is lovely. Knowing my luck with roses though,I'm expecting 'something' to happen.
Yes, LB, it comes as a shock to look outside and see daylight, turn round and then again and it's gone pitch black....

Ante, there is no chance that Lily would starve. She is so spoilt - and so loved!
I am signing out for this evening. I'll see you all in the morning. Hope that Debs and her fiancΓ© are still having a lovely time in Derbyshire, that Busy and her OH are safely on their way and Yvie, if you get chance to pop by, I hope you and yours are all fine.

Hi Hazel. I would leave little rose in the greenhouse, and protect her additionally if forecast is very cold or freezing.Β Β

Oh right @Ante1 thanks. It's got a little cloche thing over the top of it during the night at the moment but it's just in a small plastic pot. Do you think I should put some fleece round the pot? Thanks for the advise. I'm desperate to keep it aliveπŸ™‚as you may guess.

    Goodnight all.
