T'bird, I'm glad that you are enjoying at your trip. Love all your photos.Β
LB, I'm making plans every day what to visit. First time I was with group, so didn't have to much choice or decisions what to see. Now I'll be on me own, and many other thing are interesting to me.
After short, sunny period at Sunday, it's raining again. Yesterday after school I was at shopping, and bought new suit case, shoes and few other thing for my trip. I'm feeling very exhausted, so I'll go to bed earlier tonight.Β
LB - I think it is possible to make money on whisky if you buy the right stuff (premium, limited lines) and stash it away for long enough. On the Antiques Roadshow somebody brought in 3 bottles of whisky they'd found in the attic. I thinkΒ one bottle was from the 1930's, another was a bit earlier and I think the other was from the 1900's.
Don't think they were super special but, mainly because of their age, they were valued at several thousand pounds.
Today we've seen a 20 or 25 yr old limited run bottle in the shop for Β£1900 and the most expensive whisky I've ever seen to buy in a shop was over Β£4000. π΅
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Good morning all. Eek T'Bird! That is a humungous amount to pay for (presumably?) a bottle. I think my friend paid almost Β£100 for her first bottle of Ardbeg about 10 years ago. If I was thinking of investing I reckon I would go for gold myself.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Debs, I remember going to Chatsworth when we were staying in Derbyshire for my niece's hen party. It was beautiful and it was the first time I was introduced to mirrors to observe the ceilings, thus avoiding getting a crick in my neck - such a clever idea I thought. I believe that the Christmas market will be on.
SGL, I'm getting to the stage of wondering if it will ever stop raining. It is pouring down here again. I'm expecting a package some time today - not had an email or text to let me know a time slot as yet but at least I will be indoors when it is delivered.
