  • I've been out twice, done shopping (wife had tooth out, so is excused from ch - - es today), washed bedding, communicated with solicitors (exchange of contracts unlikely to occur today, due to delay in the chain), quietly blew my top (wife IS resting, after all). Posted my niece's birthday card (had to pay first class post in order to get it there tomorrow - I'm rather disorganised).Β
So good to see the sun. It brings out the smile 😊.

Afties all. We were up and about early today as we've decided to go visit mum tomorrow so needed to get a few bits in town. They have closed off the upstairs of a ( double ) car park and consequently, the other car park was nigh on full too. We were lucky to grab a space right at the end of the car park. We're only going for a flying, day visit to mums, so will be up very early and away before 7am, so will be absent tomorrow.Β
Its a decent day today, sun is out but it's very cold. The window cleaner has been and sorted out the dirty windows and cleaned the front door down and all the window frames.Β
Brother advised today that we have 3 viewings of mums house due this week, eek😬

    Good afternoon,
well, I managed to do some of my garden jobs today, but not all - I think I was being a tad ambitiousπŸ˜…. I got all the dahlia tubers out of their pots, cleaned up and stored in boxes for the winter and I cut off all the yellowed hosta foliage. I didn’t plant the tulips or the cyclamens, but that’s for another day now. Just doing the dahlias took long enough. I’ve also got to protect the more tender plants with fleece and move them into a more protected area, but the forecast doesn’t look too bad in the next few days, so aim to do those jobs over the next few days.
Feet up now with a cuppa and a peruse of my magazine.
    Hope everyone is ok.

Good afternoon all. Well plan A was put into action and I walked up to the village first thing. The rain was only a drizzle so no need for my umbrella. Get to the pharmacy only to be the third person to be told that their 'system' was down and they were on the phone trying to get things sorted and despite the fact that they had my items, they could not give them to me as they weren't 'labelled'.
Debs perhaps you can explain this to me. The lady was very nice, but quite harassed. She asked if I had any shopping I could do. As it happened, I did intend popping into one of those bargain SMs as I had run out of bananas and blueberries and it is coveniently situated opposite the pharmacy. I had a little mooch and bought a few items and when I got back to the pharmacy I was able to pick up my prescription. The minute I stepped out through the door the skies opened and the wind had got up so in the space of 25 metres my umbrella was inside out and I must have resembled the proverbial drowned rat. I caught the bus home!
I have no idea what my neighbour is working on today but all afternoon its been like sharing my house with a demented woodpecker. It will be a relief to get out quizzing tonight. I am so glad I get picked up.
@rowlandscastle444, that is a real pain for you. I'm assuming it is your buyers who are stuck in this chain?
Hazel, I hope that your journey tomorrow is safe and uneventful and that one set of the three viewees decide that the house will suit them and make a good offer.
Red maple, you have been a busy bee and well done for all of your endeavours. I heard the mention of the 'f' word on the forecast this morning. I will need to think about closing the top windows in my greenhouse.

It has rained on and off through the day. The edges of my borders are filled with water but that is nothing compared to all the people in Dordogne who are flooded and without electricity.

We've put the outdoor sofa and armchairs in the big open barn and I've brought the indoor plants back indoors. They've grown so much during the summer on the shady terrace that there is hardly room for them indoors! The leaves of the philodendron are huge.

We've finished hanging the family photos up the stairs and on the landing.

@rowlandscastle444 I hope that your OH is recovering well from her tooth extraction the other day and that you get some more positive news about the contract soon.
Ante, if you get chance to look in I hope all is well with you. Have you started your packing list??

    Morning all.

No I didn't find the missing photos, LB.. there are still boxes in the loft, but it isn't as full as it was.

I must get my flu jab, maybe this morning at the Pharmacy. Don't need an appointment, just the invitation from the health service.
