Lovely photos @Topbird. I think you travel even more than me! When are you next in Suffolk? We go back to Norfolk on Friday. I hope the weather will be OK for the flight.

I've potted up all my plants for dry shade for son's bed and my future bed and I've put them in a sheltered place by the barn wall.

While I was doing it there was a sunny period, then a gale, then pouring rain and black clouds, then another sunny period, then very grey.

Good afternoon all of you. Interesting day. It didn't know whether to stay dry or carry on raining and, keeping us all guessing, not too much happened outside. Sounds as though you had something similar Busy.
Debs, I hope that you have had a splendid bonfire party and supper. It sounds perfect. I always think about Kitty and 'The Things' on bonfire night (and Eurovision). I've heard a few fireworks - not as many as last night but there may be some more later.
Biglad, you needn't think that just because you have done massive tasks in your garden that we have forgotten about scolding you about the dentist
Busy, I do hope that your pots and precious contents are safe after Domingos visit.
Red maple, you have the right idea - watching fireworks from the comfort of a warm room.
Ante and T'Bird thank you so much for the spirit-lifting, wonderful pictures. Joyous to behold.Β  However, I don't think I would like to search for the pot of gold at the end of that rainbow T'Bird! The lighthouse has an almost 'lookout post' appearance.
Hazel, I did smile when you mention a PS. My addiction a few years back - though I still have it - was an X-Box.

Mum has a few more years to go before she's old enough for such technological trinkets Topbird☺️
Busy, Β you're getting all seasons all in one day at the moment. Good to get the pots sorted though and protected for the winter months. Can't believe you're due back in the UK next Friday! Gosh, the time is flying by.Β

I forgot to say earlier that two huge skeins of geese flew overhead today. I always think that is another sign of Autumn. They make and amazing sounds and it is intersting watching the leading bird drop back into the skein to let another bird take up the 'point'.
I am going to sign out for now. More fireworks going off too. See you all tomorrow. Good night all.

Didn't see Ante'sΒ photo before posting earlier - lovely moody shot.

BL - back in Suffolk late next Sunday. Apart from a quick pre-Christmas visit to MIL I think we'll be staying there until our next big trip in March (haven't told you about that one yet...).

LB - hope your bestie is feeling better now. Did you say at one stage that she had Covid? How is Jack at the moment?

Plenty of fireworks going off tonight and for a long time. One went off ( what sounded ) outside the front of the house and made both OH and me physically jump, it was so close and so loud. We have peace now thank goodness.
LB, we've seen a few skeins of geese of late, flying overhead , heard them before we saw them.
Signing off for today. Night all.Β

A very good morning one and all. Heavy rain woke me in the middle of the night so sleep was a tad disrupted.
T'Bird, you have properly got me in suspenders now about your next big trip Bestie did have covid a fortnight ago but the cold is just that. She sounds bad but is definitely on the mend. Jack is still doing well - I am nipping across to see him later with some cake I've made. First task this morning is to go into the village to pick up a prescription. I want the walk but may have to drive if it is still raining .

Good morning everyone . Keep warm LB the temperature is dropping quite dramatically.
It looks as though gardening will have to be put on hold while the weather is bad . I am way behind settling my garden for the winter .The beech hedge at the top of my back garden has shot up with the damp mild weather . Enjoy your day folks .

    Morning all.

I've done nothing so far. Been reading in bed, only just got up and had a shower. An hour ahead here too so It's 11am here.

It poured in the night, the rain on the roof woke me. Yesterday the river Dronne had burst its banks when we drove past. My little river is now in the fields.
