    Good morning everyone,

Itโ€™s a brighter and breezier start to the day after a lot of rain through the night and much of yesterday.

Enjoy your bonfire partyย @debs64. ๐Ÿคžit stays dry for you. We can get a good view of all the fireworks around us from our upstairs windows, so we get a free (and warm) display. I havenโ€™t seen any organised displays advertised near us this year. At one time, there were a few to choose from. I suppose they are expensive to put on.

Thatโ€™s very warm for the time of year @Ante1. It must be very confusing for all the plants and animals, never mind humans.

Cup of tea time now for me ๐Ÿ˜.

    Morning all,

You've added a new word to my vocabulary @Ladybird4 - I hadn't heard nibling before. I've got 13 with another on the way. Oldest is early 30s.

Looks bright and chilly out so will be able to get into the garden today. Had a brief tidying session yesterday - manky hosta debris and the sweet pea jungle, mostly. I didn't even put the garden waste bin out for collection last week, which shows how little time I've had out there over the last few weeks.

I've been gifted some bulbs so it's a good day to get those in the ground.

Haven't rung the dentist yet :o The pressure of work and lack of a car (mine is booked in for a new tyre, service and MOT this week) has meant I've left it. It's not causing me a problem so I reckon a week or two delay won't hurt.

    Morning all.

Storm Domingos hit us last night, howling gale and a few mini power cuts, but 145000 people are without electricity in Dordogne and it was worse on the coast. I must check my plants in the pots in the open barn.

The fireworks in our village in Norfolk have been cancelled because of the wet but they will be at the end of November instead so good for us as we'll be there then.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Please say hello to her and send her my best wishes for a speedy recover @Rubee. Hope to see her back on Rezzers as soon as she is able.
@Biglad, my rearranged dental appointment is coming up week after next, day before a hospital appointment๐Ÿ˜ฌ Might cancel the latter. Hope you manage to get your bulbs into the ground. It's really nice here today, quite warm and the sun is shining. Also, fingers crossed your car passes its MOT.ย
@Busy-Lizzie, poor you feeling the wrath of the latest storm. Hope your plants are okay, Must be have a bad 'un to take the power down from so many houses. Weather has been very difficult, one way or another, this year.ย
@Red maple, I'm wondering if we will hear anything tonight as it was other night (3rd) that there was a lot of fireworks going off all over the place.ย

Well I went out with 2 small, specific tasks in mind and managed to come back in (a couple of hours later) having done them both. Remarkable ;) I did get side-tracked by having a tidy here, a prune there, tie that up, etc. etc. but the 4th member of my blueberry family has been potted on and a planter is stocked with allium bulbs.

In addition, the blackberry/strawberry patch is winter ready, the leaf mould bin is topped up and the tayberry/loganberry border has a sturdier framework of stakes, which the plants are trained onto. Very satisfying but I have accumulated several more jobs that I'd like to do now :oย ย

Bit of food, football and a rest now. Might go out again if it stays fine until nightfall.

Afternoon all. Loving Islay!ย ย We've had a day of doing not much at all beyond enjoying the views from our very comfy cottage. We were both a bit tired after 2 days of travelling and a rather chilly night in the camper but we're all settled in and snug as bugs now. Going to walk down to the lighthouse for dusk photos in a bit.

    View from the dining table:

Nice view for our morning cuppa in bed...

Second of 4 spectacular rainbows this morning - the sea is a beautiful colour:

Had a few hours to kill yesterday between leaving the ferry and checking in. So we went to our first brewery (stunning location) where we enjoyed a free wee dram (at 11am!) and bought some nice glasses. Then we had lunch (delicious homemade cullen skink and a small plate of seafood). ย Last night we were treated to an excellent fireworks display from Port Ellen which is just across the water. Hope the rest of the week is as good!

Hazel - lovely to hear your mum is starting to settle down. She'll be wanting a PS4 (or whatever number they're up to now) for Christmas!!
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Topbird, what wonderful views, you lucky lass. Worth the two day journey and now you can rest, relax and recharge your batteries whilst taking in the stunning scenery. I reckon it is so peaceful there, good for the soul. Taking the wee dram at 11am? Naughty naughty.....but nice๐Ÿ˜‰
Think our son had a PS 1 or 2 many moons ago, he's moved on now๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿ˜‚ Mum is certainly not having a PS 4...they're addictive๐Ÿ˜‚ She's too young.........
