@Ladybird4 we always pick a venue with a hot tub it’s so relaxing and an excellent place to chat ( no phones or tv) not done Peak District before.
@Topbird Islay sounds idyllic I would love to visit Scotland one day.

Good morning @rowlandscastle444. Your wonderful pics weren't there when I posted - love them!
Good morning Ante, Busy and Debs.
Ante, that must have been a pain for you with no power. You definitely must get out to the SM. Two tea bags is not good! Lily is fed and sleeping - half on and half off my leg. I will have to shift her in a minute.
Busy, fingers crossed that you escape any nasty weather where you are.
Thanks for the explanation Debs, I knew that you had had a wonderful week away a year or so back where you had enjoyed a hot tub.

  • Just got back from my walk - which included buying the newspaper.
I thought I'd be laughed at due to wearing cagoule trousers 👖. But hey, the first person I came across was doing the same. So I don't feel so daft. Just drier underneath.
I feel sorry for those who have to work in this weather. I was out for "pleasure".
I feel very much for those who have damaged roofs or windows. Now just getting wetter!!
    So glad our roof remains.

Morning. Slept in today so now in a rush as we have a busy day ahead with various things all coming on the one day.
Ante, you spent a relaxing night with candles but hope you were warm enough? Good to hear the power is now back on.
Topbird, hope you enjoy your week away, nice and relaxing and warm in front of the log burner.
Rowlandscastle, don't be bothered what others think....I don't as I have got to an age when I do what I want and when I want to😂 and look how I want to......!
LB, great news for bestie!!  I am so pleased to read the dratted probate has finally gone through, thank goodness. As you say, she can now move on bless her. Still full of cold? She must have a real nasty one there. The news should lift her spirits though. Your poor friend from Crewe had a nightmare journey home.
Debs, Pansayface lives in the Peak District( she used to post on Rezzers). She may  know some nice places to visit?
Must dash now. See you later.

    Morning all,

Islay sounds idyllic, @Topbird. I’m sure you’ll have a lovely break and will go neither hungry nor thirsty 😉.

Enjoy your Chr…..s  movie on tv later @Ante1. We have them showing here now, on channel 5,  and in fact, there’s now also a dedicated channel for them, I believe, so you can watch them all year round should you so wish 😲.

You’d better get that dentist appointment sorted soon @Biglad, if you haven’t already done so, your friends here won’t let you forget 😂.

Its all calm here this morning, but rather grey, not as nice as yesterday when we had a lot of sunshine. Rain is forecast, but we could do without it to allow the fields to dry out a bit.

Good to hear that your friend has at last had the probate through @Ladybird4 .

    Have a pleasant day.

Good morning everyone . I hope those who are going on holiday have a great time .I love Scotland TBird .I had a better nights sleep apart from OH waking up with blood dripping from his lip. Bruno had tried to get into bed with OH while he was sleeping .While scrabbling with the sheets he hooked his claw into OH lip. After a little first aid we got back to sleep .Minds gone blank.Enjoy your day folks .

Have had two delivers made to day and then we've had to pop to the local SM, then a different SM, out of town, and then back into the local town. Found the most beautiful Sherpa throw, really thick and fluffy, all for £14.99 ( which I thought  was cheap). When Ive  undone it, it  is nice and heavy so will be so nice to cuddle up in it during long, cold winter nights( or days🙄).
During the last couple of days, I've found myself being very clumsy. Does anyone else get days when things get dropped and spatial  awareness goes out of the window? I can't believe how many things I've bumped into and near misses of smashing OH's mug ( again!) as well as other things. I've got dropsy😂
Ive been trying to get through to the Care Home  most of the day and can't get an answer. Will try again in a bit.
  • I smashed our toothbrush mug only last night. I checked our fittings and contents form for our move, and thankfully I only noted we were leaving the holder, so I don't need to buy another one. Although, if I see a suitable cheap replacement in a charity shop, I'll buy it.
Yes @Songbird-2 I'm clumsy too. It's so frustrating. It's rather a relief to know I'm not the only one. I don't think my wife would see it that way - nor you, I suspect.

Glad it's not just me @rowlandscastle444🙂
I've managed to get through to mum and the Carer I spoke to, said mum had spent the afternoon playing on the ipad, with her son, playing bowling games! Bless her. She's doing incredibly well and has settled down beautifully.

Good afternoon all. Well despite the rain, next door neighbour finished off the felling of the Leylandii with his chainsaw. I am amazed at how well he has done the job and look forward to seeing how my plants respond. Moving the tree has exposed what was once a beautiful weeping flowering cherry that has struggled towards the available light and is now quite frail and ugly. Such a shame.
Hazel and rowlandscastle444, I am a member of the clumsy club. What I want to know is, why, when you drop something, it rolls away under a piece of furniture - annoyingly JUST out of reach of your hand and when it is difficult to get down on the floor (in my case impossible!), you have to find a bamboo cane or suchlike to retrieve the wretched thing. I remember you breaking your OH's favourite mug.
