    Morning everyone,Β
We had a lot of rain during the night, but didn't hear any wind. I'm in Sussex, maybe we've missed it. Looking out down the garden it looks absolutely soaked and there are a few little 'ponds'Β  on the grass but otherwise everything else looks OK. It is very still outside, not a leaf moving.Β
*Oops that went before I'd finished.
Hope everyone is ok and hasn't had any damage done to home or garden.
    Take care everyoneΒ

Good morning Busy, @rowlandscastle444, @Biglad and SGL.
Yes, Busy, they will still be plenty of trees and shrubs and one of their major feeding stations is in the front garden so they will now be able to see it more clearly. Safe journey home to you and OH.t
@rowlandscastle444 you are in the area facing the brunt of that storm at the moment. It is good to hear that so far all your things are safe. Just take care geting up to peek in the loft. Sticking your head up through the hatch for a quick look round might be the way to go.
I agree Biglad - I find it difficult to understand why reporters are placed at risk in storm areas and also in war zones. Surely a verbal report on situations will suffice. As you say though, there are always those idiots who have to 'go and look'. Love your expression!
SGL, it is very still here too despite the rain so visiting Bestie should be quite safe.

  • Thank you, @Ladybird4
I think the Channel Islands are affected the most, so far. We have friends on the Isles of Scilly, who's home is basically on the beach. Not heard from them yet.

War zone reporters are fine @Ladybird4 - "PRESS" written on their body armour means they can't be harmed. The missiles, bombs and bullets must be fitted with some kind of AI that reads that and avoid them ;)Β

It's a phrase I use far too often!

Thought I'd posted this morning. Β We've done weekly shop, had a delivery and then I've popped into town to replenish the wool supplies. It's pouring with rain but it's quite mild. No winds as such and apart from rain we are going to miss this storm I think, horrible to read the stories of those who have suffered badly. All the best to those here who are suffering.Β
  • Absolutely pouring with rainΒ  and quite windy at the moment. Hope it doesn't get any worse.Β

SGL, it has never stopped raining all day today but the wind only started to get worse about 14:00. I was glad to get home from Bestie's. She is full of cold still and will miss our quizzers meal tomorrow.
I agree Hazel. Did you see that video clip taken by a baby monitor that showed the Mum just grabbing her baby out of its cot before the window of the bedroom blew in. It was very frightening.

  • Rain has stopped at the moment and the wind is not as bad. Hopefully it's on its wayΒ  out now.Β
I saw that on the news @Ladybird4 it was awful.Β  Poor lady must have been terrified.Β
