@didyw OH has been laying insulation in the loft of our extension through a small hatch, he cut the rolls in half which i pushed up to him, he then used a garden hoe to push it into far corners.  B)

@Ergates, I am pondering on whether to get the rug made smaller. The carpet fitters have just finished and did a good job. They're local so I could ask them. The pattern might look a bit odd with a chunk cut out though.

The splitter van description makes sense @Dovefromabove, I didn't know such vans existed. Hope you get your car back soon, food shopping by bus probably soon palls.

We were turned down some years ago for free loft insulation as our loft was deemed to be too big! Wish they'd make their minds up.

    The old loft insulation.
    Devon.
  • Thanks @Hostafan1, interesting info, I doubt we will qualify for anything.  We have cavity wall insulation, the loft could do with more but the central area is boarded so that would have to be lifted not sure about the disruption.

Hi @Hostafan1, just read on Sky News that there has been a big increase in cryptosporidiosis in the UK since 1st August according to the UKHSA, Public Health Wales & Scotland. A large proportion had been to Spain in the 14 days preceding.
Can be caught from animals, soil, water and swimming pools. Symptoms can last for up to 6 weeks - sorry!

That's an awful lot of black plastic bags. Hope the installations go smoothly.

Beef Bourguignon demolished with gusto and a very large bottle of red wine, a gift from our friend, is also being rapidly sunk.

I had a horrible day. Sore tooth socket, bitten cheek and sore tongue. The good bit was the sharp bit of tooth has been filled off and tongue feels better already. The bad bit is that I have a dry socket. A blood clot is supposed to form in the socket to protect the nerves while it healed. It didn't. Son said he would have to make it bleed - ouch, pain as bad as the extraction, has hurt all day. I've been very tired too since getting back so late last night from babysitting and waking too early with face ache.

At least the appointment with my GP was OK, blood tests and BP are fine.

Oh @Busy-Lizzie I do hope that your poor gum eases and lets you have a decent night’s sleep 🤞
