Morning all, a bright and sunny one here so looks promising. I found a full container of patio cleaner last week so thinking about applying it to the shady paths around the house in an effort to stop the algae forming over the winter. Hope it works. Means that I've got a get a move on and brush all the paths first, there's lots of debris from the tall birch trees all over the paths as well as moss tossed down by the birds from the roofs.
Your practice sounds excellent @Dovefromabove, ours is a very small one, one of two run by the same GPs. The larger one is across the other side of the city though.
OH has decided he's recovered so I've got the guest bed linen in the washing machine. Took it off wearing rubber gloves - trying to avoid getting Covid if that's what he had!
That's good news on your OH's hip replacement @Lizzie27. Fingers crossed it doesn't get delayed.
The presentation went really well yesterday. It was held in a local cafe (the Earsham St. Cafe @Dovefromabove) and it was pretty packed. I gave a little speech, someone from the design team gave a little speech and Pete the Baker sang a song he had written (based on a sea shanty) - with everyone joining in on the chorus. Then it was mingling and eating the local cheese and drinking the local wine. The dignitaries who were there all really enjoyed it and everyone thought the new Food & Drink guide looked amazing. Now we just have to figure out the best way of getting it to all the visitors to the region so they can come and enjoy the delights our town has to offer!
But I think I too might be up for an afternoon nap today!
Im back from the farm shop and butcher and everything has been put away. Iâve also ordered the Christmas cockerel, bacon and chipolatas and paid the deposit.Â
I managed to leave my shopping list in our dining room table, but thankfully my memory is still intact and I remembered everything except OHs soya milk ⊠and he has a stash of that in the garage so wonât go without.Â
While I was out OH hung a load of washing out and cut the back âlawnâ. It was very long and quite damp so he took the grass box off the mower so weâre going to have to remember to make an effort not track it indoors when we walk in and out.  Weâll tackle the âwildflower meadowâ at the front next week ⊠hopefully itâll be fairly dry with the forthcoming âheatwaveâ.Â

Very mild here, gardening in a tee shirt. I have been given a new date for my surgery, 2nd. November, but been warned cancellation is not unlikely! Have to admit I am finding it a bit stressful.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
I have just had confirmation that the effing tooth will come out next Friday, not by the surgeon I saw Wednesday but the one she recommended. If the secretary is anything to go by I have found an efficient practice. It's a bit far from me and OH is away but I'll be fine. Congratulations @didyw.
Best wishes to everyone. I've just returned from visiting the nursing home (where my Father is resident). It occupies a hill, and so enjoys reasonable views of a nearby mountain range. Unfortunately, cloud was low enough so that the mountains are hidden today, and with 100% cloud cover the light quality is low. However here is a photo of the where the mountains should be anyway...

Just waiting for our Indian to cook, one of Sainsbury's specials we like. I got the paving brushed down and applied the cleaner after lunch. It took ages to brush it, have only done one side of the house but millions of birch tree seedlings littered the paving, plus leaves, twigs etc. Could do need a vacuum with a long narrow nozzle but our garden vac blower thingie a bit heavy for me. I wonder if they do smaller lightweight ones for smaller lightweight people!!
Good news about your re-scheduled op @punkdoc, fingers crossed!
Glad it all went well @didyw, you deserve a well earned snooze.
We've had a lovely day out at Blickling Hall with our free NT tickets. It's over an hour from here, north of Norwich, takes us longer because we go the country way, not the A11, prettier, not much traffic. www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/norfolk/blickling-estate We visited the house first, which was interesting, then had lunch, then looked at the walled garden and the formal garden. A lot of the veg had been harvested and flowers were over but there was still enough to make it worth it.

Better get on.
