Just slipped in to wish bon voyage to @Busy-Lizzie and OH for their trip back to France - will you be back here for Ch******s?

Good news on both accounts @Hostafan1, do they tell you what the temperature in the house will be with the air source heat pump? I heard that it would be approx 18* which I think is a bit chilly.

I can always top up with an additional heater I suppose, but I'll never run out of oil again, and I don't have to pay for fuel in advance.

Thank you @AnnaB. We are back on 11th November, then I will be going to France in December to spend Christmas with my family and OH will spend Christmas with his family in England.

A bit awake as per usual so I thought of looking you up.
Good to see you on holiday @D0rdogne_Damsel. Enjoy!
I hope your shopping went as well as the visit to the mechanic @Ergates and you found something. Also good news from @Hostafan1 and the free heat pump and loft insulation.
    You live near a a beautiful spot @Badly_Maintained 😍
Sorry about the broken tooth and consequent bills @Lizzie27, mine is a broken root whis is worse but today is the day!! I am a bit apprehensive and at the same time can't wait for it to be over. Never been happier to go to the dentist 😂.
Our Yorkshire visitors had a good time and so did we, proud to show off Luxembourg.
Better get some sleep now as OH has a 6.30 trip to the airport.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
It’s jolly wet outside …  and still properly dark … but we’ve got an early start today as OH has a long day at work … he needs to be there by 8:30 and what with the rush hour traffic and the roadworks between here and the ring road we’ll have to leave is bit earlier than usual.
Ah … here comes my coffee … ☕️

Morning everybody. Looks quite nice out there this morning, a bit of sunshine peaking through and I can see some blue sky, hope it continues.

Good luck with the tooth extraction @coccinella, the journey to France @Busy-Lizzie and the trip to OH's workplace @Dovefromabove.

It's also good news about Hostafan's free air source heat pump, it will be very interesting to hear progress reports on the installation and what you think about it when it's working. Glad the tummy's behaving itself at last.

I was rather astonished but pleased when the surgery rang early this morning to tell me my request for a mild sedative for the dental work has been approved and I can collect the prescription today. It's for diazepam so I hope he's checked my other medication and it's safe for me to take.

  • @Dovefromabove wishing you and your OH a safe journey on the roads.

@Lizzie27 There is a calming thing you can get over the counter called "Rescue Remedy".  I've never tried it, but some people swear by it.  Best wishes for the dental work.

Also best wishes to @coccinella for your tooth extraction today.

Have a wonderful time in La Belle France @Busy-Lizzie

Congrats on your free renewables @Hostafan1 Glad you are feeling a bit better.

Will be thinking of you today, @coccinella. I’m sure it will all go well, and it’ll be great when it’s done.
@Lizzie27, my usual practice when I had a patient with complicating medical conditions, was to ask the GP to prescribe any sedation, so they could check it against their existing medication. I’m sure they’ll have done that! Wouldn’t do any harm to read the information leaflet that comes with the Valium though, especially the drug interactions bit.

Anyone tempted to travel for ‘cheap’ dentistry would be well advised to read some of the reports of what can happen when things go wrong after you’ve come back home.

    Good morning all.
Campylobacter food poisoning has been confirmed, but mercifully it has run its course now.
