What time shall I come then @Dovefromabove? 😋

Welcome to the Forkers @Chelonie. The best people on the forum are on this thread 😉

Chilly day today, wow what a change from Friday. I had some seeds left over from previous years, no point in keeping them in a drawer so I scattered them around. A quiet Sunday.

Happy birthday @Fairygirl. 🎉🎂 I hope you’re enjoying your day.

It’s a beautiful autumn day, but there was frost in the night again. Been to the GC and bought some polyanthus and cyclamen plants. I won’t get them planted up today, so might have to drape some fleece over them tonight as further frost is forecast,  until I can get them in the ground and pots. (Plan to do a mix).

I took lots of pelargonium cuttings yesterday which are residing on the bathroom windowsill for now, and then put the parent plants in the garage to protect them from the frost - not sure if they’ll survive, but they’ve got two chances. The greenhouse I’ve got is one of those mini ones with polycarbon (?) windows, so it doesn’t offer enough winter protection. I’ve no room in the house for them.

    Hello and welcome @Chelonie

@Badly_Maintained lovely view in your first photo. Did you say you live in eastern Ireland? I've stayed in County Wicklow, a riding holiday place with my children after my first OH died. We enjoyed exploring the area and gardens and Dublin.

It's been a lovely sunny day. I've weeded the orchard fence bed which has yellow roses and blue flowers with a pink and white bit at one end because I wanted 3 Astronomia roses and I didn't know where else to put them. The washing dried.

@Dovefromabove we are having roast  stuffed guinea fowl tonight, with roasties, sugar snap peas and baby carrots. Then the apple and blackberry pie that I mentioned this morning.

Evening all, it was a very chilly 3c at 8 am this morning and ice on the car windscreen.
    What a contrast!

Turned out to be gloriously sunny so DIL,GD, OH and myself had a walk along the beach and enjoyed an icecream - probably our last outside this year. I forgot about my tooth problems so that was a bit of an ouch moment. Oops!

DIl is cooking us a roast chicken dinner tonight so looking forward to that, our contribution is fizz and chocolates.

    Welcome @Chelonie.

I was pleased to get hold of that furnishing fabric @Busy-Lizzie, as it matches/blends in with the curtains but also has other colours in case I want to change the curtains at a later date. I don't think I'll be redoing the chairs again!

Happy birthday to @Fairygirl and all the other October born posters. Obviously a popular month for births although we don't have any in our family

    Lovely photos @Badly_Maintained.

    Enjoy your Sunday evening folks.

  • Evening all,

Back home, reunited with Charlie. ❤️

Unfortunately his suitcase disappeared from the luggage room as he finished school on Friday, we're hoping it was a genuine mistake and will return tomorrow. Worst of all is he spent 250€ on clothes for our holiday in Croatia this week and it was all in the suitcase. Typical! 🙄

Missing my friends already, but we've had a fabulous week. They're all coming to France for my 60th birthday in January so that's good.

Happy birthday to all October babies, best wishes to all with ailments.

Happy birthday @Fairygirl, and @floralies and Aunty Rach in case I forget! Hi, @Chelonie.
Cold here today, but I went out in the sun and pruned a length of laurel hedge. All shredded and in the green bins! Tucked up inside in the warm now. OH has been watching rugby for hours!

So has my son @Ergates - good job they've got two Tv's in different rooms, we've been watching Antiques Roadshow - loved the diamonds!

Glad you enjoyed your holiday @D0rdogne_Damsel but what a shame about Charlie's suitcase full of new clothes. Must admit I thought it a bit of a coincidence so hope he gets it back soon.

Sudden fall of heavy hailstones just as I got up. There was no warning when there was rain in the area, and just as I opened the front door for pixel to go out and the large hailstones suddenly pelted down. What a shock!  The     TV announced that the snowfields are suddenly covered in snow again.  Talk about changeable weather.

     Brrr!
